CNN: Sarah Palin Has Never Seen Russia From Alaska

Just when you thought the whole "I can see Russia from Alaska" thing couldn't get any funnier...CNN's Gary Tuchman delivers the goods: it turns out that Sarah Palin has never seen Russia from Alaska.

Tuchman went up to the part of Alaska from which you can actually see Russia, a remote island called Little Diomede located just 2.4 miles from its Russian twin, Big Diomede.

It turns out Gary Tuchman's trip to Little Diomede sets him apart from Sarah Palin -- because she's never actually been there, nor has she set eyes on its neighbor in Russia.

Tuchman says that only 150 people live on Little Diomede, and that the town of Diomede has no streets and no cars. The poverty rate is over 40%, there is no television, and the only practical way to reach it is by helicopter. Anchorage (near Palin's hometown) is 550 miles away.

No Alaskan governor has ever visited Little Diomede, though indicted U.S. Senator Ted Stevens has made the trip. The town's residents barely knew who Palin was, and one of them didn't know she was the VP nominee.

It's going to be fun watching McCain-land spin this one, and it's going to be even more fun watching Tina Fey parody it.

Well, it's taken a few weeks but they're starting to make her eat her words. This is such a colossal blunder by the McCain camp -- they couldn't say "hey, we picked someone inexperienced on foreign affairs but she's a whiz bang on energy (ha) and ..." well I'm sure they could have come up with something else that was PLAUSIBLE. But, no, they LIED to the American public, and maybe themselves, cooking up this cockeyed story that she had all these bona fides. Her answer to Katie Couric tonite on the Supreme Court is laughable and scary ... for conservatives. For, without even knowing what she was doing, she admitted to a Federal Right to Privacy that the right wing has fought against for decades. Lol ... she just didn't get it ... expect some quick fence mending memo from Grampa and another trip back to see Miss Katie. The other sadly hilarious view today has been John McCain trying to claim honor in this ragtag campaign he's been running. Has he so lost his soul he's truly in denial about the depths of dishonesty he's treading in now? Or is his defense of Palin and his dishonest ads just another step lower in this onetime Maverick's career? Claire McCaskill said it best: there can be no honor without honesty. Liars .... glad they're getting caught.

Everything she has said is meant in a 'Metaphoric or Figurative' (not to be confused with 'Euphoric' ) sense. Nothing is to be taken 'Literally'! There is no such thing as a 'Bridge to Nowhere" because semantically it has to go somewhere even if it stops in the middle - you literally can get somewhere on a physical Bridge to Nowhere.
