Letterman

Tuesday night, David Letterman kept his war with John McCain raging strong, weaving another McCain joke into his monologue (that's 4 shows in a row, not counting the Friday show which was seemingly pre-taped earlier in the week).

"Yesterday the stock market...suffered its biggest one-day drop in history....And I'm telling you, boy, it's a good thing John McCain blew me off to go save the economy. Thank god is all I can say!"

Knowing Dave, he won't let up until the campaign is over. That's fine by me.

When Obama and Biden win next month, we'll have David Letterman and Tina Fey to thank for it. I'm convinced they are single handedly changing the dynamics of the race. I love it!

Humour is often the most powerful weapon in politics. Ridiculing lies is often more effective than refuting them with a reasoned argument.

Don't forget Jon Stewart & Colbert - they get the 30-somethings, busy with families, etc. - and do an excellent job of summarizing the days events while pointing out the absurdities.

Sometimes, after Matthews, Keith & Rachel, I am DESPERATE for a laugh about all this insanity!

I'm ready for the VP debate.
Is there a point spread?

Issues Baby, Issues!
It's all about the McCain/Palin "Economy" now.

>Is there a point spread?

Kind of. Intrade has a question: Barack Obama's Intrade value will increase more than John McCain's following the VP debate? Currently it's at 58%. Closer than I thought it would be, but then Obama has gone up a lot after the first debate. http://www.intrade.com/

Johnny Boy, u haven't made a decent decision in the past few months. The best one you can make now is to enter center floor and you and your lovely VP candiDATE bow out. You will feel healthier immediately and your hero status will be renewed.

If we were not in this predicament with the Credit Market, and I do believe these responses from Lettterman will go down as one of the turning points in this long election year, no matter who wins on November 4th...this could be some funny stuff.

Looks like Mc Ancient gave us another superlative example of his excellent judgment based on his many years of experience when he decided to ditch Letterman's show and then lie to him about it.

Gotta love Dave -- he's as tenacious as a pit-bull (but without the lipstick).

Think McCain will think twice before he ever blows Letterman off again, if he manages to be offered get back on the show.

Every time McCain refers to his "honor" he entitles Letterman to ridicule him once again. And he boasts about his honor several times a day.

That horse won't dead until the election has been won by Obama -- and even then, it might just be faking.

Isn't it ironic that the main stream media is afraid to confront McCain on his behavior because they may not be allowed back on the press plane, yet Dave Letterman steps up to the plate & we cheer him on?

About damn time someone stepped up & called him on it! Perhaps the press can learn a thing or 2 from Letterman. I'm betting a ton of $$$ that McCain's camp is frantically trying to find a way back into Letterman's good graces.

"People should never be afraid of their government - government should be afraid of the people".

How can we allow someone to lead our country if everyone around them is more afraid of not being on the plane than of telling the truth?

The point is..Why Lie?? "suspending campaign...rushing to Washington..."
Same with Palin..See Russia from Alaska..bridge to nowhere..sold plane on E-bay.
The truth is readily available..it's the lies stated, then repeated and defended that brings
the relentless ridiculing. As it should be.
