Elisabeth Hasselbeck

"The View" heated up over politics again Wednesday morning, specifically around the subject of Sarah Palin's readiness to be President.

"She doesn't know anything about it!" Whoopi Goldberg said, which set off co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

"In terms of experience, she's actually been leading a microcosm of the United States of America," Elisabeth responded.

Things heated up even more after Elisabeth took a swipe at Joe Biden, prompting Barbara Walters to say, "Every single day you never ever say, maybe there's another point, so this is your chance....Tell us now why you think that Sarah Palin would make a very good President."

Elisabeth's response? "Tell me why Barack Obama is qualified to be President."

Watch as Elisabeth eventually puts together a list which includes "she has been in charge of the National Guard during a time of war":

Yikes, someone's been watching a lot of the McCain ads with their 'BS' filter turned off.

McPalin HAS NOT been in charge of the National Guard "fduring war" -- BECAUSE she is NOT the P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T. Art. I., . 8, Cl. 16 of the Constitution reads, in relevant part:

"[The Congress shall have Power] To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, . . . ."

That refers to when the National Guard is FEDERALIZED, during which the Commander in Chief is the P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T, not a state's governor. OBVIOUSLY, it has been BUSH, NOT PALIN, who has been ordering the National Guard to Iraq (and to do tour after tour after tour, which is itself irresponsible and incompetent, but on that point Bush's).

It doesn't surprise that yet another Republican airhead -- another being Palin -- substitute second-hand false talking points -- the thinest of BS -- for knowledge of the Constitution.

Otherwise, are Republicans INCAPABLE of giving answer to a question about the topic of the question, instead of IRRESPONSIBLY AVOIDING IT, LIKE A TODDLER, BY INSTEAD ASKING A QUESTION ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY?

The republicans could be bringing the world to an end and she would still be in denial.

"she's actually been leading a microcosm of the US"...if there is one thing republicans are good at, and you really have to give them credit for this because this is why they keep getting elected, they are loyal and completely buy eachother's BS and even if they don't buy it, they are willing to look like idiots for eachother.

Palin called Alaska a microcosm of America in what was quite possibly the dumbest jumble of words to come out of her mouth, when she could not name a single news source she reads regularly.

Really now, do any of us go around regurgitating Obama's talking points? No, I am able to talk about why I like him without coughing up slogans and talking points that he has put in my mouth for me.

Hasselbeck is an air-head, a brainless bimbo who believes whatever McBush/Pitbull regurgitate.

The epitomy of stupidity and classical example of being stumped because of a narrow-minded and micro-encephalic head that can't understand serious debate, open-mindedness or intelligent discussion is to retort back the question one asks you in an attempt to deflect answering it.

EXAMPLE:

Walters: "Tell us now why you think that Sarah Palin would make a very good President."

Hasselbeck's response: "Tell me why Barack Obama is qualified to be President."

See--- STUPID!

Her next remark was especially telling: "Name three accomplishments by Barack Obama." This is one of Pawn Inannity's favorite talking points. You can't tell me all these conservative/neocon pundits don't get the same talking pojnts and marching orders from the GOP!

According to Elisabeth, Palin is "...leading a microcosm of the US" - if that's so God help us, considering her stand on everything from the economy to the environment (including the polar bears which she's like declared UN-endangered)

John McCain would make a better president than Barack Obama.

According to whom? McSame and the suckers who swallow slogans and buzz words and phrases as substitutes for actually THINKING?

Loyalty to a potential EMPLOYEE is dumb in the extreme. Wake up: being stupid is not smart.

She is another bubblegum flavored poptart. Nothing more nothing less. People with uneducated opinions annoy me so she's right up there with most Republicans.

Exile Elisabeth and Sarah to the same island. Let them talk amongst themselves. Both of their voices are annoying.

1st : in EH's defense, it seems her co-workers get a little disrespectful when it comes to discussing politics or opposing viewpoints on the show. Just because I don't agree with anything a girl's saying doesn't give me the right to run over her comments and refuse to give her the time of day to refute herself...

2nd: it's surprising to say it but there are a surprising amount of people who would agree with or sympathize with EH merely b/c she's being ganged up on. Sure, she's the one conserv. on the block, but when it's her vs. the world, it's easy to feel pity for her.

In conclusion, let the woman drown herself in her psychobabble/conservative b.s. and when she's done talking, blow her arguments to smithereens!

I totally agree. I think her co-workers have become a little disrespectful now. I think that is because she has behaved like an adolescent during many discussions about politics both on and off the show and I think they must all be completely sick of her aggression and the fact that she will not engage in a real discussion about anything - rather she delivers a daily advertisement for the Republican party while speaking like some kind of 'mean girl' to anyone that holds a different view.
It must get on their nerves and as the election gets closer the gloves are off.

I agree too that their lack of patience with her now does mean that at times she does look to be ganged up on which can lead some people to side with her purely because she is out numbered.
Something they should address asap.

It does need to be remembered though that the way she is being treated by the rest of the panel now is exactly the way she has been dealing with all of them for at least the last 18 months. Just ask Rosie.

Back in the early 80's when I was in college the young republicans were considered the smart "A" kids, most likely to make it financially, own a mansion and a jag by 29, etc. Those of us in the liberal camp were considered to be the partying "c" kids, most likely to waste away our education and dollar earning years working social causes and backpacking across Africa helping those in need, not owning anything until we were 40..... After watching Lissie, I wonder how young republicans are thought of on college campuses today... hmmmm

Depends where you are... I'm a moderate-liberal democrat at a super conservative campus where just about everyone is republicans. So up here / down here, we're still looked down upon.
This is a biased news source but I don't care, it's nice to hear some opinions from the other side of the political fence once in a while...
