Kelly Ripa Cover Deja Vu, Belly-Button Airbrushing

Kelly Ripa, 38 on Thursday and a mom of three, graces the November cover of Shape magazine in an orange bikini. Look familiar? She was also on the cover of Shape last May in a orangey-red bikini. In between, she broke up the Shape orange bikini covers with a gold bikini on the cover of Fitness. But, she only shared three top workout moves with the readers of Fitness, according to the cover. Shape reader got SIX the first time around.

Also of note: across the covers, she has three different belly buttons. Ripa, an outspoken outtie who jokes about getting her belly button stuck in zippers on "Live with Regis and Kelly" had it airbrushed off completely for last year's Shape, but this time they just softened it on the cover. Below are the three covers and an un-airbrushed picture of her bellybutton while on a family vacation.

If that photo of Kelly turns an adult man on, does that make him a pedophile. Kelly is a pretty, intelligent, feisty lady but my problem is that these images put forth a body that is more like a young teen.

What Kelly is showing is the results of pride in herself and her appearance and it clearly indicates there's no excuse for the obese women (or men) walking around. And because someone of the opposite sex enjoys looking at Kelly doesn't make them a pedophile, only a pervert or an evangelical would be able to draw that conclusion London.

OK, first off, she's petite. 5'1" if I recall correctly.
Second, she has been working with a trainer for more than a year, and is quite muscular.

The fact that she's very fit does not make her look like a young girl.
It makes her look like she cares enough to really dedicate herself to a healthy lifestyle.

The only newsworthy item here is the failure of modern writers to acknowledge and embrace the actual electronic function primarily responsible for such Image Editing being ‘cloning’ (as in pixel cloning) not the antiquated ‘airbrush’ term which although also an available application tool in name and in function, less suitable for the task and in the context of model photography, refers to the days of actual paint on a photograph.

I recall seeing her years ago as a rather cherubic teenager in the soap "All My Children" (what can I say, I used to have a night job). Ms. Ripa has displayed an almost frightening amount of determination to make something of her career. And more power to her. That's how careers are made. But you can't help but get the feeling that her body image may also be held hostage to that same ruthless ambition. As though she fears an ounce of extra body fat may risk her career. She's the only celebrity i can think of who, even when smiling and relaxing, appears to have both fists clenched. Well, maybe Jerry Lewis too.
