McCain Does Interview With Gay Paper

Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told the Blade in an exclusive written interview this week that he appreciates the Log Cabin Republicans' decision to endorse him, and he hopes "gay and lesbian Americans will give full consideration to supporting me."

McCain's decision to answer questions submitted to him in writing marks the first known time a Republican presidential nominee has agreed to an interview with a gay publication.

McCain reiterated his long-held position that he would leave it up to military leaders to decide whether the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law should be retained or repealed. But he suggested that he would support a "review" of the policy.

Shout this article on the mountain!!!!! The more fundamentalists Christians hear about this "interview" the better. They will never vote for Obama, but when the crazies find out Johhny boy is talking to the gays, more of them will just stay home. That means less people to vote on anti-gay legislation(like prop 8 in CA) along with not voting for McBush. DIDN'T KARL ROVE TEACH YOU ANYTHING OLD MAN? he really had me going until he got to 'Federalsim' meaning that Arizona shouldn't be forced to recognise a marriage in California. Well, married is married. What about survivor benefits for partners of veterans, social security, income tax and other federeal programs? You have to live in California to ge them? No human and civil rights in Arizona? like it ain't even a part of America?

McCain must have submitted these answers before he went crazy. While I disagree with his positions on gay rights, at least it appears he is making an honest attempt to be respectful. If by some perversion he does get elected, I hope this is the McCain we get.

The Log Cabin Republicans should be ashamed of themselves. They're fixated on their wallets and the mistaken belief Republicans are fiscal conservatives. How did federal spending do during all those years when Bush and his party had control of the government? Not too well as I recall! They need to get their heads of out their asses (nothing sexual intended) and support Obama/Biden who will at least give gays a shot at semi-equality.

McCain's answer on DADT is just a political copout. After serving 23 years in the military I know we can survive just fine without don't ask, don't tell. He's always bragging about his leadership qualities; a true leader would pick a stance and proudly stand by it, not leave it up to others to decide!

I have no doubt his conviction to appoint Christo-fascist ultra-conservative justices to the Supreme Court exceeds his concerns about the gay community.

McCain keeps twisting himself into pretzels of various shapes and sizes, trying to fool people. He thinks Americans are stupid. And, looking at the polls, he's right about that ~40% of likely voters.
