On Monday, John McCain had a truly combative meeting with the editorial board of the Des Moines Register, discussing heatedly everything from Sarah Palin to health care to the shine of his maverick brand.

McCain got near anger when it was suggested that the Straight Talk Express had taken a detour, challenging the questioner to provide examples. Asked specifically about the kindergarten sex-ed ad, McCain defended it wholeheartedly.

"I have always had 100 percent absolute truth and that's been my life of putting my country first. And I'll match that record against anyone's. And I'm proud of it. And an assertion that I have ever done otherwise I take strong exception n to. And you will have to provide better proof than a bill that Sen. Obama supported that clearly calls for the teaching of sex education of young children."

McCain was equally as animated when asked about the qualifications of his running mate, Sarah Palin. At one point, he seemed to catch himself getting heated and deliberately backed off.

"So, with due respect, I strongly disagree with your premise that she doesn't have experience and knowledge and background," the Arizona Republican said. "And, by the way," McCain said before cutting himself off and saying, "I'll stop there. I fundamentally disagree and I'm proud of her record. But you and I just have a fundamental disagreement and I'm so happy that the American people seem to be siding with me," he said.

McCain dismissed Republicans who questioned Palin's experience as "Georgetown cocktail party" people who call themselves conservatives.

McCain gave another sharp answer when the editorial board noted that -- having served in the military, then in Congress, and now being over the age of 65 -- McCain has always been covered by a taxpayer-financed health care plan.

"I was out of the military for a while before I went to Congress," McCain said. "But that is an interesting statement. And I have never been an astronaut, but I think I know the challenges of space," he said. "And I have never done a lot of things in my life that I think I am familiar with. I have always been a free enterprise person who thinks families make the best choices for themselves.

"I did go a period of time when the health care wasn't very good," he added, in reference to his time as a POW.

The Des Moines Register board leans left, but they endorsed McCain during the Republican primary.

As a forensic psychologist, I watch this tape with more interest each time, and see more indications of JM's arrogant, condescending attitude in his body language. He is obviously in a chair that rocks, but to sit with arms in a "thrown back" position and to ROCK while talking shows that he doesnt take any of this session seriously and feels he is superior to the others present...

And watch his odd movements and diddling around with his hands. He picks up the cup and moves it around, brushes...no manipulates- his jacket arm in a weird way, a whole set of "Capt. Queeg-like" actions.

And watch the debate with the sound off. Without his soporific voice (which almost sounds as if he's talking down to children...when he's speaking "to" the audience) one sees some incongrous actions. He almost resembles another famous Maverick politician that burned out in history.

I thought he couldn't move his arms because when he ejected from his plane both arms were broken and since immediate medical treatment was not given he suffers with this disability! My husband was in the Air Force and tells me one of the problems was at that time most pilots arms ran the possibility of broken arms during ejection!

Obama Makes McCain Very Uncomfortable
By David Nather | October 1, 2008 8:40 PM | Permalink | Comments (3)

Let the record reflect that Barack Obama made the approach to John McCain tonight.

As the two shared the Senate floor tonight for the first time since they won their party nominations, Obama stood chatting with Democrats on his side of the aisle, and McCain stood on the Republican side of the aisle.

So Obama crossed over into enemy territory.

He walked over to where McCain was chatting with Republican Sen. Mel Martinez of Florida and Independent Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut. And he stretched out his arm and offered his hand to McCain.

McCain shook it, but with a “go away” look that no one could miss. He tried his best not to even look at Obama.

Finally, with a tight smile, McCain managed a greeting: “Good to see you.”

Obama got the message. He shook hands with Martinez and Lieberman — both of whom greeted him more warmly — and quickly beat a retreat back to the Democratic side.

Since Mc is always 100% truthful and honest, then we must take him at his word that he has always aspired to be a dictator. Looks like he's taking his cues from Napolean Bush. What is it with these creepy, power-hungry a$$ wipes?

Mc jokes about being a dictator, while simultaneously letting loose his surrogates to go about blaming minorities (especially AA's) for the housing mortgage crisis. This is just how things got started in Germany. Make scapegoats out of one group, while sending your thugs about to take out all your competition one by one. Then when everyone in power is disappeared, you step in and proclaim yourself fuhrer.

He may never have been an astronaut, but he's sounding pretty far out there in the ozone layer.

George W Bush all over again. Repeat lies with more vehemence, and people will believe you.

Only this time, people are getting smarter.

McCain has ALWAYS had a federally-backed medical plan -- he's 100% VA disabled. He doesn't know any difference between private and federal health-care programs, but doesn't want the American public to experience the same level of medical care he has received.

McCain=Unstable
Palin=Unable

I just posted this another site my husband ex-military gets his meds from the VA, that's all, all other medical benefits come from us paying additional payments for gap. What concerned him was the 100% disability, he told me you either have to be a paraplegic or have very serious conditions, 100% disability is not in the offering. Either McCain is lying to get these benefits or something else is going on!

Imagine how angry and bitter and depressed and incoherent McCane would be after two or three years of being president. Dealing with a hostile Democratic Congress and constantly blindsided by his loose-cannon VP.

But to be more than fair, with the loony-seeming astronaut comment, he's trying to make the point that it doesn't matter whether or not he's ever had private health insurance -- even if he hasn't, he can still sympathize with people who have bad experience with their privately-insured health care.

But of course he can't get his thoughts out coherently, and seems to be babbling nonsense.

Whether or not there's some core of sanity in there somewhere, the outside is looking increasingly demented.

"I have always been a free enterprise person who thinks families make the best choices for themselves."

They really don't, you know. Karl Rove proved that.
