Reuters reports that Palin's "troubles" are mounting for John McCain. The GOP nominee now spends much of his time being asked to defend Palin's judgment and experience, even among conservatives.

Mocked by comedians, derided by prominent conservatives and reeling from flustered interviews with national media, Sarah Palin is proving a risky gamble in Republican John McCain's quest for the White House.

"Palin is Ready? Please" a headline in Newsweek said this week of the moose-hunting Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, capping a turbulent week in which Palin's fitness for the job came under growing scrutiny.

"Sarah Palin is utterly unqualified to be vice president," Newsweek International Editor Fareed Zakaria wrote.

"She is a feisty, charismatic politician who has done some good things in Alaska. But she has never spent a day thinking about any important national or international issue, and this is a hell of a time to start," he said.

Indeed, in recent days, McCain has:

-- Gotten testy with the Des Moines Register editorial board, describing Republicans who question Palin as "Georgetown cocktail party" people
-- Insisted to NPR that he has actually consulted Palin for foreign policy advice "many times"
-- Claimed that quoting Palin's public remarks on Pakisan was "gotcha journalism"
-- Lost much of his campaign staff to Palin debate prep

I heard at least 4 pundits today discuss if joe should pull the chair out for Sarah chivalry style. This country is on the edge of insanity, if not over the freaking cliff.

I didn't object to it because I'm a feminist. I just don't think it's the right place for that.

I don't know. There are RULES. They aren't WRITTEN. You just have to wing it :)

Gimmicky. I shuddered when Obama did it for Clinton. It's so elaborate in that setting.

So here it is...the "October Surprise" that we've all been speculating about. Why do I get the feeling that all of these Palin gaffes were all part of a master Rovian plan to fool democrats and the general public into believing that Palin is a disaster? Watch her come into the debate tomorrow night and absolutely wow everybody. Then watch Obama's lead virtually evaporate overnight, and watch McCain's candidacy get a huge boost.

Mark my words...this is NO TIME to be complacent.

At this rate, Failin' Pale-in is going to put all the writers at Saturday Night Live out of work. They will be walking the soup lines soon if she keeps chatting, because as good as they are, they just can't make this stuff up! She is the gift that keeps giving.

I don't get why making fun of someone like that is so funny.

Would you find someone making fun of B-racks' ears week after week funny?

It depends, if they are as funny as Tina Fey, probably.

Barack cannot change his ears. Sarah Palin could've and should have been curious about the world and or hell, any state outside of Alaska BEFORE trying to run for Vice President of the U.S.

Nice try, though.

New Bill being voted on included billions of dollars in tax brakes. Geesh.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:20 PM on 10/01/2008

Don't be fooled. Read the bill. Those tax breaks aren't what you might think. They were part of a bill that the Senate passed earlier this summer that the House voted against.

I agree that she has not done well. But I've yet to see anyone question Obama as aggressively. After all, he is at the top of the ticket. If McCain can stay within 4 points of Obama while the entire MSM is busting their ass every day to elect Obama, then you know if you took away that advantage that the democrats would never win an election.

You rethugs need to drop that line of questioning because it is just plain false and that is why you are losing so fast. Everyone in America has seen not only plenty of everything about Obama, but too much at this point. He has answered everything, been under the microscope, rung the the wringer, and then raked over the coals, all to no avail.

That's why Palin thinks it is so easy. Because Obama makes it look so easy. He goes through the glare without breaking a sweat.

McCain is only any where in sight because he is a white old guy running against a young black guy. Let's just face facts. He is not there because he is so damn great in comparison.

But much to your chagrin even with all the MSM carrying McCain's bucket with this tired line of "Bradley effect" and "Maverick" "POW verb, noun", Female "Maverick" , Feisty (Just too scared to face the press), just like one of us, and all this oher BS that the media has tried to cheerlead on behalf of McCain.

The bottom line is Obama in spite of all that is turning red states that not even Clinton, Gore, or Kerry could turn to blue.

some good news re: Sarah Palin

The Indypendent reports: "A month after Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin trashed community organizers as a way to attack Barack Obama, activists and individuals around the country have responded by raising more than $7,500 for the “Community Organizers Fight Back Fund.” The Chicago-based Midwest Academy is managing the fund and will use the money to train future organizers."

I wonder how long it will be this month before we start seeing and hearing the scare tactics and 'family values' red herrings...... the colorful "alerts" ratcheted up by the White House; the Straight Jacket Express screeching and blathering on about "God, Gays, Guns and Gynecology." It is sooooo predictable. The attacks are coming because the cabal of floundering and desperate Rethugs is quickly getting into panic mode and they have nothing else.
