Reuters reports that Palin's "troubles" are mounting for John McCain. The GOP nominee now spends much of his time being asked to defend Palin's judgment and experience, even among conservatives.

Mocked by comedians, derided by prominent conservatives and reeling from flustered interviews with national media, Sarah Palin is proving a risky gamble in Republican John McCain's quest for the White House.

"Palin is Ready? Please" a headline in Newsweek said this week of the moose-hunting Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, capping a turbulent week in which Palin's fitness for the job came under growing scrutiny.

"Sarah Palin is utterly unqualified to be vice president," Newsweek International Editor Fareed Zakaria wrote.

"She is a feisty, charismatic politician who has done some good things in Alaska. But she has never spent a day thinking about any important national or international issue, and this is a hell of a time to start," he said.

Indeed, in recent days, McCain has:

-- Gotten testy with the Des Moines Register editorial board, describing Republicans who question Palin as "Georgetown cocktail party" people
-- Insisted to NPR that he has actually consulted Palin for foreign policy advice "many times"
-- Claimed that quoting Palin's public remarks on Pakisan was "gotcha journalism"
-- Lost much of his campaign staff to Palin debate prep

Palin reminds me of Peggy Hill (from the "King of the Hill"). It's like this cartoon character was based on Sarah Palin. Seriously.
When I learned about McCain's VP choice I thought he's finished. It was so desperate and so stupid... How can one imagine Palin as a president of a country?
When she spoke for the fist time publicly, she looked like she was crying inside (was she scared?). It was ridiculous.

I just saw Sarah playing the flute on the Rachel Maddow Show. Now that's a talent that she should stick with!

I know. I think she'll do fine with whatever segment of the population already support her.

I don't know how she thinks. I know how Obama thinks. I know how Biden thinks. I even know (shudder) how McCain thinks.

I'm suspicious of people who give away so little. Why can't she let us see how she makes a decision?

She doesn't think so much as repeat the GOPAC talking points and buzzwords. She's just been brought to the national stage too early...before she was smooth enough.

Who knew the prophetic potential of the film "Idiocracy" would come to fruition so soon? Perhaps the Republican ticket and staffers will be available for a stage production sometime after the first Tuesday this November. Hmmmm?

From the NPR interview: "MCCAIN: I’ve turned to her advice many times in the past, I can’t imagine turning to Senator Obama or Senator Biden because they’ve been wrong. They were wrong about Iraq, wrong about Russia –"

Good lord. First he steals Obama's Change slogan, and NOW he's verbally plagiarizing parts of Obama's debate responses. That only about a million people across the country heard. He really DOES think we're stupid. John McCain isn't even concerned about being respected by anyone at this point, he's so focused on not losing.

He reminds me of the one dude I went on a blind date with, gently told "You're nice and all, but not for me," and the firmly had to tell "get lost, yo," and then had to threaten with legal action if he didn't stop drunk dialing me.

Sarah Palin reminds me of my 2 year old nephew who's still learning how to form coherent English sentences,

Forget God bless America. Try: God SAVE America.

Palin stared Putin down when his head breached Alaskan airspace. I wish I could have seen that, an epic battle in her head.

Both Obama and McCain voted Yes on the bailout bill just now. It's going to pass with the majority of votes.

I am a staunch Obama supporter. However, I think we need to be careful. I fear a backlash coming. After watching the last segment of KO's show tonight showing a compilation of Ms. Palin's mishaps and difficulties giving straight responses to questions you would expect someone running for national office to know, I find myself beginning to feel very sorry for her. If I am beginning to feel this degree of sympathy towards Ms. Palin, it is quite possible that I am not alone in this way of thinking.

The next time you start to feel sorry for her remember:

--- She would make her teenaged daughter (and yours) carry her rapist's baby.
--- She "hunts" animals from a helicopter.
--- She saw women charged $1200 for evidence gathering rape kits after they were sexually assaulted.
--- She is under indictment for firing someone who refused to fire her brother-in-law and refuses to answer a subpoena on the matter.

Need I go on?

She chose to run on this ticket, she knew what she was getting into (probably). But she certainly knew she was not ready to be VP.

One of the reasons she chose her was for "sympathy". Do not fall for it.

I am not sure Biden was there....when they called him on the roll call, I didn't hear an answer.
