NY Times:

ANCHORAGE -- When Gov. Sarah Palin meets Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Thursday in the vice-presidential debate, even her fellow Alaskans might hear for the first time some of her views on health care reform, education policy and other issues of state government.

In her 22 months in office, Ms. Palin has not addressed many of those matters in a significant way, pursuing a narrower agenda rooted in Alaska's resource-based economy.

Ms. Palin has approved increased spending for education and the elderly, sued the federal government for listing the polar bear as a threatened species, and pushed for a bill that would have reduced state regulation of new medical facilities.

The Alaska-Centric Palin BookŠ

Sarah takes on Big Oil: The compelling story of Gov. Sarah Palin's battle with Alaska's 'Big 3' oil companies, as told by the state's top oil and gas editors

"Sarah takes on Big Oil" is a book about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her battle with the state"s three largest oil producers"ExxonMobil, BP and ConocoPhillips.

A 216-page hardcover, "Sarah takes on Big Oil" is being released Oct. 12 by PNA Publishing, an affiliate of Petroleum News, an independent news-driven weekly newspaper based in Anchorage, Alaska.

The authors, Kay Cashman and Kristen Nelson, are uniquely qualified to tell the story of Palin"s dealings with the oil industry, and the unusual circumstances that bracketed her unprecedented rise to power.

Cashman, publisher and executive editor of Petroleum News, is a people person. She knows the people in Palin"s story, and they know her as someone who can be trusted with sensitive information.

Nelson, editor-in-chief of Petroleum News, has a long record of covering the State of Alaska"s interaction with the state"s most lucrative industry.

Cashman and Nelson bring a perspective to Palin"s story not available to general news reporters that makes for lively, but factual reading.

Alaska should recall this women. I'd be embarrassed to be from there and have the world see who they elected to represent them.

Well, at least I can say she is a politician.

I think i've reached a point when nothing shocks me.
You could tell me she's actually a man and I would believe you.
I simply don't care anymore.

Palin,Palin, Palin. Enough!

She's crazy. Now let's move on shall we?

Palin is simply not ready. I do applaud her for supporting the elderly.

But in general, she's not ready. She should be thinking of an exit strategy that depends on where she wants her career to go. If she keeps stumbling, she'll ruin her political career. Even at this point it is hard to see how she will salvage it.

She can throw the McCain campaign under the bus in the debate. She should forget everything they want her to say and simply say what she thinks, irregardless if it fits with the campaign or not. Then, either deliberately or by insinuation, let it be known that she feels the campaign tried to control everything she did and said. That one wont be hard to sell since many people already believe it. If she doesnt do something like this, when McCain most likely loses Palin will be the proverbial 'fall guy' blamed for costing the republicans the election.

TRADE Ms. Palin does not appear to have made any trade missions since taking office, and former state officials said the state"s trade staff had been reduced under her watch.

"Had she participated, in the last 18 months she would have met ambassadors, governors, heads of the European Union"s programs, of United Nations programs," Ms. Wohl said.

This is supposed to be Sarah Palin's strength. This whole thing is such a joke.

Look at the highlights appearing in Palin's hair! Every few days there's more. By the time the election rolls around, she'll be as blond as Ann Coulter!
