Biden gets choked up when talking about the struggles of American families and the trials he himself went through when his wife and young daughter were killed in a car accident.

"The notion that somehow because I am a man I don't know how to raise two kids on my own," he says, "I know what its like to raise a child where you are not sure he's going to make it."

At one point he had to hold back tears, take a breath and compose himself.

On the CNN dials of undecided voters in Ohio, both men and women rated the moment as high as possible.

Watch:

Biden is human. So is Palin, but I won't say human what. (Rhymes with "far bridge.")

Biden forgot to pass around his baby like a football in front of a convention hall.

For me, this was the only human moment in the debate and you could tell it was real. No coaching needed here. The downer was Palin's reaction or lack of it.

She didn't even know she was supposed to. It's all about her, you know.

Joey "The Shark" Bidden won this hands down. It wasn't even close. She even admitted she wasn't anwering the questions. What? You got to a debate to answer questions. How can any one think she won with those canned answers that refused to move from? Someone tell me please.

Joey was smooth, knew the facts, laid out his case and did what he came out to do it. She gave a speech she has been working on everyday for 2 weeks.

Shoutout to the 3rd graders? We are talking about running a country. I don't even think they were at the same debate.

Joe was often angry, pedantic and sour.

Not the temperament you want in a VP.

There is no mistaking Joe Biden's genuine emotion. It really got to me as a father who recently almost lost his very young child.

I am old enough to remember the day when a tear-up of a candidate could bring down a campaign ...

I remember when a high-pitched "Wooo!" into a uni-directional mic could do it, too.

Especially when you resoundingly lost Iowa that day and the winner of the state was now set to "run the table" according to your original strategy.

I was a hardcore Deaniac. Love the guy. The scream was a convenient symbol of the collapse of the campaign but I don't believe it caused it.

Not sure where you are going here..... but I teared up as well when he brought up his life history..

If you are saying that this was a political ploy you are probably one cynical person who would never be in my friendship circle....

Joe Biden showed that he was a superb politician an that he was an extraordinary human who values his family...... and watching his interactions with his wife, Jill... I see a huge partnership in that marriage.. just like I see in Barack and Michelle...

That is true values.... and when I saw on clip where McCain was rubbing off Cindy's lipstick because she had kissed him on the cheek... I saw what his family values are... NONE..... just whatever furthers his cause.....

He certainly is, and he will make an outstanding Vice President.
He is brilliant, and he has the admiration and respect of world
leaders who seek his advice.
And by the way, when Senator Biden was saying these words,
Palin was icy cold, and ignored Senator Biden's words.
Palin is so dumb, and ignorant, it is astonishing, she
shouldn't be in the same room with Senator Biden.
She belongs on The Jerry Springer Show.

Given a loss of the magnitude that Sen. Biden suffered, its understandable, It proves he's a real human being. Think of Ann Coulter ridiculing the women who lost their husbands from 911. I'm surprised Palin, being a neocon, didn't mock him.

I would hope she wouldn't dare.... there's every chance as well that her son may not come back from Iraq either. That would've killed her chances in November. I feel they both felt the same way about that particular issue.

She didn't mock him, but she didn't acknowledge or pause out of respect when it was her turn to speak. My inlaws who were on the fence (voted Rep. last 2 elections), called this morning to say after watching last night were definately voting for Obama/Biden. They were horrified that she brought up Sen. Biden's deceased wife in such a tacky manner and mentioned her lack of tact when he was talking about them. The real clincher for them was however, Gov. Palen's "Cheney and beyond" ideals of what the VP powers are.

You seem to be saying she should have stopped the debate and offered her condolences to Biden for deaths that occurred twenty years ago, or so.

Joe Biden did an outstanding job last night, he's such a genuinely good hearted man. Palin came across as a cold hearted b**** & a total Bush wannabe. She's scary.....

I found her perky and appealing in a "Bride of Chucky" sort of way.

But will her demon-doll charm be enough?

No wonder she was advised by that nutso minister to watch out for witches. They're competition.

Other than all that, I like her.

I thought she could have acknowledged the man when he finished his statement. I mean she could have said "if I gave the impression that you were not a good at raising kids then I apologize" or something to that effect. Instead she said "back to the tax issue" now that was just darn right nasty.

For me she still came off as an air head that remembered what she was taught, not that she believed what she was saying.

I believe in Barak and Joe and they appeal to my inner person to want to reach out and help and get involved and make this country into what in can be.

I absolutly agree with you. She was so robotic in most of her answers, trying to remember all what the mccaing campain teach her all this month. Skiping questions just answering what they taugh her sbdolutly PATETIC.

Yeah I definitely think at that moment, had she gave back to him some sentiment after that, it would've warmed up even audiences like me towards her, since adorability was what she was after. Golden opportunity missed in my opinion.

Even though I am completely Obama/Biden and I agree she came off very inexperienced, I also remember she did not ask for this. McCain recruited this woman, who is clearly not ready to be VP of the US and she is doing the best she can, which is not very good. Her performance has solidified my vote that Obama/Biden are the best pair for running our country. What was McCain thinking? It's like he pulled a girl from high school to compete with the big boys: wrong move.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:56 PM on 10/03/2008

Do you not think, if she does in fact acknowledge her own limitations (all 700 billion of them), that she should not have TURNED MCCAIN DOWN FOR THE GOOD OF THE COUNTRY, IF NOT THE PARTY???
