Barney Frank just demolished Falafel Bill O'Reilly on "The Factor."
It was a thing of beauty from the start, and peaked when Frank told O'Reilly that O'Reilly's "stupidity gets in the way of rational discussion." Frank even used the L-word, telling O'Reilly that he was "lying."
O'Reilly had invited Frank on the show to sandbag him, but in the end, Frank thoroughly ruined O'Reilly's plans. Here's video:

This is just sad. Bill O'Reilley is a joke. He really can't call himself a reporter. I was one to give the man the benefit of the doubt but he really does seem to be coming undone. It's not helping his image. There is not even the pretense of fairness and it's become really sad to watch.
I love Keith Olberman and it is my fear that he is heading down that road on the Liberal side.

It wouldn't be at all surprising to wake up one day and see the news headlines read:
Bill O'Reilly was forcibly removed from his FOX NEWS studio ,kicking and screaming after being placed in a strait-jacket. Mr. O'Reilly will be taken to an undisclosed location and put under observation for psychiatric evaluation.
I have to agree with O'Reilly on one point. This Congressman was not willing to take responsibility for his mistakes, his lack of oversight on this financial debacle.
What I hear and see consistently from O'Reilly is FEAR! Imagine how you would feel if you earn a million per taping of the FACTOR and in 2009 you have to start giving 50% of your pay to taxes! You would be pissed too! This is what I believe he fears once Obama takes office and increase taxes on those who earn $250,000 or more. O'Reilly and other like him is going to experience a "Shock and Awe" in their first taxation year once Obama gets in office.

Regulatory agencies do oversight.
Congress can only make suggestions to them on what they've observed.
There would be no reason for a Republican administration to control the agencies if it was Congress that ctually did the work.
All regulatory agencies are in the executive branch.

Look, the problem here is that I have no idea whether to agree with O'Reilly or with Frank - I couldn't follow anything with all the mutual shouting. There is just, completely, absolutely NO excuse for this. State your case, hear the response, give your riposte. It's not that difficult. Talking through each other is not just confusing, it's counterproductive. Nobody hears anything. Sprinkling in words like "coward" makes it just worse.
I really, really want to like O'Reilly. He's got the history. He's a tough kid from a tough neighborhood. I actually respect his opinions. I want to hear what he has to say. But when he pulls this crap, I can't respect him, I can't hear what he says, and the end result is that I turn him off and I don't go back. If he's got any sense at all, he'll change his ways. But I won't hold my breath. I assume he won't, his ratings will go down the tube (where they're headed now) and in a couple years, it won't be an issue because he'll be gone, anchoring a radio show in Chillicothe Ohio.

I do occasionally like O'Reilly, when he's not shouting he sometimes makes sense.

O'Reilly admitted that he lost alot of money when Lehman Bros. went under. He has been freaking out ever since. He feels it is the government's job to worn the public about this. Personally I think it is the investor and the broker that should take responsibility.
Does anybody know if O'Reilly has been critical of Phil Gramm and his wife who were both complicit in finally undoing the FDR New Deal protections keeping the banking industry in check. Phil Gramm was instrumental in getting Glass-Steagal repealed. I would really like to know if Bill O' will have them on his show and ripping them a new A_ _Hole. Very doubtful, he never goes after conservatives because he is the ultimate shameless shill for Neocon Conservatives. O'Reilly professes to be for regular folks but in reality he is just for the 5% that hold wealth and power in this country. Someone who counts on the ignorance and fear to feed his arrogant existence
Being of Irish descent and proud of it, I find O'Reilly a disgrace to his heritage. He is such a bully, such a loudmouth, such a deceitful creep, it makes me just sick to hear that name defaced by him using it every night. I have begun to think that O'Reilly and Hannity must be the sicko's who have influenced my three bully Republican brothers. They all use to have intelligence and manners, but have morphed into ranting, raving, bully idiots. Is O'Reilly a dry drunk? or does he still drink?

O'Reilly and Hannity must be the descendants of degenerates who were banished from Ireland and ended up here in the U.S. In other words, “good riddance to bad rubbish”.
I have many Irish friends, but unlike these two JERKS, they were kind considerate and showed respect for others, despite their political affiliation or ethnic origin.
I also have close relatives who have been totally indoctrinated and consumed with the O’Reilly and Hannity distortions and lies, they believe every bit of swill that pours out of the mouths of these two misfits. It is utterly disgusting!
I would probably start watching The O'Rielly Factor if Bill would start wearing a large red clown nose and curly orange wig with a funny hat. This would then tie the visual message with the audio. What do you think FOX?
I cannot watch Bill-O because it spikes my blood pressure, but I like Barney so I wanted to hear what he had to say. I noticed that when Frank started to expose Bill-O, it was suddenly time to move on. These Faux-News folks wouldn't know the truth if it dropped in their lap.
Why do right wing blowhards think shouting down someone make the right on the issues? Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow would never react like this. I refuse to watch O'Reilly not because I disagree with him but because he gives me an actual headache.
He yells to drown out the truth. I can't believe he stays on the air.
