John McCain was joking around on Morning Joe earlier today about gambling on the baseball playoffs and let loose a verifiably false claim, saying "I'm not a rich man."
Now I know he just trying to say he wasn't a good sports bettor, but if he can fun around, so can I.
So here's the result -- a video, reminding John McCain exactly how rich he really is:

McCain's new strategy: Just say whatever is necessary, even if it isn't true. We'll deal with that later.
He's technically correct. John is a kept man. He has a rich wife. Remember that they file separate tax returns.
Even if didn't have his wife's money, his Senate salary puts him in a high economic bracket, not to mention all the perks you apparently get - read the NY Times article today on well Biden has done as a Senator.
His father the admiral might have left him something, too.

Wait a minute. In an interview with the Des Moines Register I just saw yesterday he said he has ALWAYS been "absolutely 100% honest" and that he "strongly takes exception" to anyone who thinks differently. I was intimidated into agreeing with him myself.
Maybe John McCain believes that he has always been 100% honest. If in fact John McCain actually believes that he has always been 100% honest, what does this make him? A sociopath? A psychopath?

how can he joke about this when the unemployment figures just came out, when wall street has to be bailed out, when people are losing their homes and when all of these things have "stopped" the economy? what is wrong with him???

No heart, no soul, no empathy for the hardship they so often cause to the rest of us. It was a nickname based on his actual ownership of five properties and an indication of his great wealth.

He might have been joking. However, the fact that "I'm not a rich man" didn't strike him as a particularly insensitive comment, given our crumbling economy and given the painful contrast between his wealth and the plight of most Americans - over 37 million officially classified as below the poverty threshhold - shows how utterly disconnected he is from the world the rest of us inhabit.

McCain's "not a rich man" only in his mind. Unfortunately, he's not really in touch with reality much anymore. This reminds me of his comment not too long ago about the fundamentals of our country's economy.
We must not elected this individual to steer our country out of all the messes the Shrub made.
