Palin

In an interview aired Thursday, Sarah Palin claimed that Dick Cheney's worst act as vice president was his "duck hunting accident."

As part of Katie Couric's interview series with both VP candidates, Palin and Joe Biden were asked to name the best and worst things that Cheney has done over the last eight years. The responses stood in stark contrast, to say the least.

Biden offered a withering critique of Cheney, charging that he had "done more harm than any other single elected official in my memory in terms of shredding the Constitution," citing the vice president's promotion of "torture as a policy" and the idea of the unitary executive. Even Biden's "praise" for Cheney was brutal: "I admire his willingness to take positions that are completely contrary to popular opinion."

Flash to Palin, sporting a goofy smile: "Worst thing, I guess, that woulda been the duck hunting accident, where, you know, that was, that was an accident. And that was made into a caricature of him, and that was kind of unfortunate." (In fact, Cheney accidentally shot his friend Harry Whittington during a quail hunting trip.)

Cheney's best act, according to Palin: "[H]e's shown his support along with George W. Bush of our troops."

Drill Drill Drill Baby! But you have to fundementally understand and be consequential on the very premise on what I learned on the main drag in Wasilla: the American worker is strong. We hunt and gather from our very mansions on the hill. You betcha gonedoggit!! Don't you understand? We support this necessary bailout and iffin any 'a yous are agin 'er? Well, you know what'll happen. The economy will crash by crikey! Like old pap yous 't say, if ya can't beat 'em, you better nuke 'em.

I won't say that Palin is stupid but I must say that she and McCain's court of jesters must think the American public is stupid and shallow. A wink here, a smile there isn't what governs this country. We need real leaders with real knowledge of DC and the workings of our country.

I have heard several callers to talk shows say that Palin did a very good job but whn asked for specific examples, the callers simply repeat that she was great and spoke to the american people.

She did not speak to me.

I would not call what Cheney did "a quail hunting trip" or even hunting. Basically he and his friend walked around shooting quail that were farmed raised and had no real flight response. They shot 470 out of the 500 released birds. That is more slaughter house than 'hunting.

You have no idea what your talking about. On that particular hunt, they were hunting wild quail.

I know the people who own that ranch, so I know you're wrong.

The lady is wacko. Biden must have totally puked up his dinner afterwards. No one should ever have to put up with that much nonsensical drivel.

Checkout my piece on Youth Voter Registration. For every 100 registered voters aged 18-24, the democrats accrue a 9 vote advantage.

I have had enough of politicians not answering the question and spinning it somewhere else. How long did it take for Pres Bush, when asked if Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11, to actually answer it truthfully?

There are lies of comission and lies of omission. Not answering a direct question is a lie of omission.

Worse than that, she doesn't think that sending HER child into a war for oil is bad.

Now that is really effed up, IMO.

Best she could do, not being much of a reader... probably missed that whole Iraq disturbance, outing a CIA operative and the domestic surveillance thingy.

Didn't they offer a TV accessory option in her tanning bed?
