Palin Survived, But Biden Won

My instant take on the debate:

Sarah Palin did not offer specifics, did not reassure those who have questions about her readiness, and most importantly did not defend John McCain (other than repeatedly calling him a "maverick"), nor did she make a case for how she or McCain will deliver the change this country needs.

More importantly, Joe Biden turned in a performance of a lifetime. And he was on offense all night, focusing on John McCain. He was direct, and honest -- ironically, the straight talk all came from him. He talked about change, and he was credible.

Bottom-line: Sarah Palin did not have a calamitous moment, but if the question is who made a better case for change, Joe Biden clearly won.

Palin hurt McCain with this "performance". It was clear that her main objective was to save Sara Palin. In attempting to do so, avoiding 'throwing McCain under the bus' was not a priority.

All she could muster was a fight for survival. To defend McCain as well was beyond her capacity.

Biden was fabulous! He was to the point, accurate and very composed. Did Sarah Palin actually provide an answer that corresponded to the original question? I'm only a college graduate with two master's degrees, so I couldn't make the leap from the question relating to her weakness and her answer of all the McCain-Palin campaign's talking points?! And for can someone please tell her to ACT like a Vice Presidential candidate and Governor rather than a folksy checkout girl at some border town in Alaska. I don't think Putin is going to think the winks are cute.

We've had 8 years of an administration that shreds the constitution and makes up their own rules. This woman showed she would be more of the same in that she refused to answer the questions as asked and made up her own. Not only that, she's asking for MORE POWER THAN EVEN CHENEY! Scarry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She didn't sound like as much of a blathering idiot as she did with Katie when she had to answer the questions. That's because she totally had her own agenda and had the answers to her own questions memerized.
