Looks like McCain-land wants to take their defense of Sarah Palin into a new level of paranoia: they are now accusing Katie Couric and CBS News of leaving Palin's strongest moments on the edit-room floor.
The accusation came from McCain's top economic adviser, Douglas Holtz-Eakin just a few minutes ago on Hardball.

CBS should call their bluff and announce that the network as a public service is going to telecast the complete unedited tapes of the Palin interviews. Can you imagine the panic that would overwhelm the McCain campaign? All those neocons and dirty trickers would go bonkers! And can you imagine how those tapes would play? Hours and hours of BAD PALIN BABBLE! It's enough to cause the entire free world to shudder itself into a depression. (Oops, sorry, forgot there for a moment that we are already IN a depression).
Annie Oakley of the North needs no help to look bad. She does it all on her very own. McCain thought the "Sweet on Sarah" thing so many people have would work all the way to the election. John, you misjudged the American people. Just keep on spinning!

It's a well known fact that Katie Couric is so in the tank for Obama that she brought in ultraliberal Tina Fey to fake some of those answers and pass them off as Gov. Palin's own. Last week's SNL proves it, when they used the exact same answers in their comedy version. WAKE UP AMERICA!

Both Katie Couric and Gwen Ifill are more qualified to be Vice President than Sarah Palin. Will the Repubes not take responsibility for ANYTHING? No one likes people who can't admit when they've made mistakes or done poorly -- that's not the American way.

I believe him. This may sound like a nutty conspiracy. But I think they purposely wanted to portray her as much, much dumber than she is, so she can then "knock 'em dead", as Doug just said, at the debate. And this, I believe was done in accordance with Couric, or CBS.
Does she sound as she did in the interviews right now? In the debate? Are you gonna tell me she studied in three days and got better? The Couric interviews were a setup to totally lower her bar.

He was not convincing on TV tonight at all. It sounded like total BS spin that was easy to disprove. Chris Matthews did not let him off easy. And to accuse Couric of this is low, low, low and also again, they treat Americans as if they are stupid and think no one will notice.

CBS should just air the entire interview and show us just how bad things really were. Because frankly, from what I've seen so far in this debate ... nothing in the interview with Couric could be called "good" parts. She hasn't yet actually answered a single debate question!
