Palin Debate

Watch video below of Sarah Palin arriving by plane in St. Louis with her family ahead of Thursday night's vice presidential debate.

Here's the press pool report from the airport:

On the flight from Flagstaff, Arizona to St. Louis, Palin spokesperson Tracey Schmitt said that the Alaska governor is looking forward to tonight's debate, "She is eager to lay out the contrast of her record of executive leadership and Joe Biden's 35 years in the halls of congress."

While in the air, we learned that while running on the McCain ranch on Monday afternoon Palin slipped on some gravel and cut the palm of her right hand. She is wearing a large band-aid on the palm of her hand.

Yesterday, debate prep went all day on the ranch. She spent another day doing mock debates outside with McCain Senior Foreign Policy Advisor Randy Schneumann who "played" the role of Joe Biden. The group broke for dinner at 7:30pm local and her advisors along with her family which include Todd, Willow, Piper and Trig. They ate steaks and twice baked potatoes on picnic tables outside.

Also during the flight, Willow and Piper came to the back of the plane to pass out black licorice and stickers. Willow was wearing a grey T-shirt and jeans while Piper wore a blue sweatshirt that read "Alaska Grown", jeans and missing her two front teeth which apparently is not a new development, but a few months old.

Did you object when the Obama children were on the cover of magazines, or up on stage at the convention. Let's not forget their television interview, they were sure cute, but they were still props right. Just wondering!

I dare say you ARE NOT going to see the Obama children being paraded around during school hours. I think the Obama's take education very seriously as the Palin's should....but apparently don't . I g uess since they are uneducated they think its ok if their children are as well.

Don't even go there! A whole different scenario...we are not saying she should not have her kids with her some of the time...can you tell me how many time you have seen the Obama kids on school night? As far as pictures on the cover of magazines...I would willing to bet that the photographer was scheduled at a decent time that would not interfere with rest and school for the Obama kids...and yes they are adorable and very well mannered. If the situation was reversed, you and many others would have a completely different take on the matter of children in political families. If one of the Obama girls was pregnant and unmarried and only 17 years old. they would never be on center stage! are we are back to the double standards! Obama-Biden 08!

"Use is abuse" that is, using one's children.
Why is Sarah Palin holding her infant son while shaking hands with people on her arrival. Her husband or daughter or nanny couldn't carry the child out the plane?

It looks like she is holding him as a shield.

It's part of the spin they're using... McCain's mouthpiece was just on MSNBC talking about how bad the media have treated her and how they have torn her kids apart... blah, blah, blah, whine, sob, sniffle...

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:57 PM on 10/02/2008

I don't know what they're talking about b/c I have heard nothing negative about her children since right before the convention when the pregnancy news came out. The media have been very respectful.

No Mattie...if someone else was carrying the baby...she would not look so awkward trying to hold him and shake hands. Please stop it! No one is picking on this lady out of hatred...do you realize that if McCain somehow steals this election and he should die...Palin would be the Commander in Chief, and that scares the hell out of a lot of people...we have every right to be concerned about everything of this family...just like you and the Palin followers have been about the Obamas. The Palins have a lot of skeletons that I feel could have been kept in her family...but she is the one that parades in front of the media...for her special photo opts moments!

Why aren't those kids in school?

You can't tell me that they are being home schooled on a campaign jet and living in hotels.

And you can bet that the only time she actually carries that poor baby is getting off the airplane. Otherwise who is caring for it? A couple of very young girls? SS agents?

Seriously what kind of pathetic mom is she?

And YES we have to pay attention to her and she needs to get beat down tonight. McBush's campaign is a little rocky BUT bringing her down will be a tipping point and after that it's just a matter of keeping McBush in his natural state of sneering and sliming.

I am just praying that Obama might pizz him off enough for McBush to turn to Obama and say, "You listen her boy...."

Yes, why aren't those kids in school? And another question - how old was 'fiance' Levi when Bristol got pregnant while Mom was too busy running Alaska? Add to this husband Troy who won't respond to a subpoena; Sarah's troopergate and they look like a bunch of non law abiding American citizens....

yes, we can work and be mothers, it's called equality. Although I kind of worry about it, now that I read hear how much Obama supporters seem to think that women can't be good mothers and work. Millions of women have managed to raise children and work, with a lot less help than this woman has. What is it with this hatred of women I read here.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:22 PM on 10/02/2008

That is not what they are implying. When you have an infant with ds there immune systems are so poor. This child should not be lugged around. These children need to be at home with dad. That is what is being said. Just like Obama and Bidden they have to leave their families and campaign. She needs to do the same. Her first dude should not have any problems taking care of those children.

Tell me how many women that you know that are mothers to special needs BABY and wants to be VP/President? We are not talking about an 8-5 job! It is NOT HATRED of women...come on and let's keep it real and honest. It is about Palin who is NOT QUALIFIED to be VP/President, just plain and simple. I was working mother, so this is not to belittle working mothers...this is about the position that she is applying for...as your leader and God forbids, as my leader as well...it's a scary thought!

Man, you'd think she doesn't know how to hold a baby the way she totes it like a text book. And you'd almost think maybe it's not really her baby, since her daughter doesn't look pregnant at all... and hasn't announced a wedding date... even though, you know, she's due in, what, two and a half months?

My god, the oldest trick in the book; the "SYMPATHY" vote. Didn't Scooter Libby try it too during his trial for obstruction of justice for the leaking of secret information regarding Valerie Plame? These guys pull this stunt every time they don't have truth and justice on their side.

There is absolutely no sign of a bond between that woman and that poor little baby. It's horrible to watch. I don't care whose chilld it is but, it's clear that she is not in "mothering mode" with him. ANYONE with a child of their own can see this.

Yeah, she carries him like she's never held a baby before. Like a sack of potatoes. Weird. I agree, there seems to be little bonding there. Actually, when her daughter Bristol looks at the baby, it's with a more loving expression than the baby's own mother. So I guess I'm saying, I can't explain it! It's just so strange.

Adding onto the comments here that SP is really taking a chance with a small baby, and the way she holds it, am picking up on her holding this child with one arm, down a flight of stairs - unbelievable. Her careless behavior along with her arrogance, just tells about the person she really is. This is all a dream, right?

I agree...and she is always patting him in the back! I just don't see the bond! I see it with Bristol and Levi! I believe it is Bristol's baby. Sarah started the lie when she announced to her staff that she was 7 months pregnant...then a month later give birth after the long plane ride from Texas to a small hospital in Alaska wher there is no record of Trig's birth.
