I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Sarah Palin refuses to defend John McCain's record on deregulation.

It's almost like she thinks she's running for 2012.

So much for "I'll find some and bring them to ya!"

They know that McCain's pushing for deregulation is a lethal poison to their campaign. Its not mentioned as much as I thought it would considering how big a story it is now. Why won't you talk about it MSM? Oh, I forgot you're owned by some of the largest corporations on the planet.

Sarah Palin lost, all she did was memorize what they drilled into her head, she didn't answer the questions and she LOST BIG TIME. She just proved that she can remember things, she didn't answer the questions the moderator put to her.

Meah (a poster here) noticed a wire over HER right shoulder (our left). I thought Meah was joking, but there is a thick black wire across her right shoulder. It looks like hair, but it's thick like a cable wire. Not sure what type of wire it is or what it's for.

I did notice both their mikes on their lapels, like those worn by commentators.

I can hardly wait till I don't have to listen to GW talk ever again. I feel the same way about
Sarah Palin. Like GW she makes no sense. She is full of hosesh@t. She is a pre-recorded
message from McCain.

That is a perfect example of her side tracking the issue, which I noticed during the debate and wonder if anyone would pick up on this. She can't defend it she can only avoid it.

I believe when Sarah Palin is no longer in the picture for Vice President and all the money that is protecting and prepping her is gone, the real truth about her will come out.

And the bigger Truth is John McCain picking her for his selfish desire to win at all cost over what is best for our country... His Country First is the ultimate phrase of hypocrisy. He has never understood or accepted that we Lost the Viet Nam War and the same is true for Iraq. We have destroyed that country. How shameful.

When Palin talked about the hard working people of this country, I said as I have said before
that McCain's gaff about the "Fundamentals of the Economy are Strong", then trying to explain
away the sudden economic crisis and excusing the strong economy belief saying that it
is the work force that is fundamentally strong. Well McCain it is just to bad that there are no jobs, no
credit, falling production for this strong fundamental.....the working people. Some of the people
are stupid but I'm not. You are always covering your ass with some nonsensical reasoning.

It was a three-way race for governor, between two well-known guys who cancelled each other out and she came in under the radar, supported by the Christian right. No, oh God no, she is not the cream of the crop in Alaska. That would be Ted Stevens and Murkowski!

She's ambitious as hell and bought into the Republican playbook, ran for mayor on an anti roe v. wade / jesus inc. platform and charmed them. plus half the state govt was under indictment.
go to mudflats.com an Alaskan blog that knows everything about it.

She didn't even pretend to answer the Achilles heel question. She just gave a sales pitch instead, no concession, not even the trick of calling something bad that everybody knows is really good.

A few times I turned to my husband and asked, "Is that what they were talking about?" because it took me awhile to get used to her bizarre tactic of just suddenly changing the subject with no transition and no warning.

Several times my husband looked at me quizzically, and I just put my palms up and shrugged my shoulders. It was a combination of "heck if I know what she means by that" or "I don't know why she said that absurd thing" and "see what I mean." The "see what I mean" part was because I've been trying to tell him about her since he doesn't get into this as much as I do. I don't think he believed me until tonight.

Of course the McCain people are going to spin this until we're all dizzy, but aren't the American people too smart to fall for that ridiculous act? Despite all the folksy, cutesy cr@p, wasn't her lack of depth painfully obvious, and won't that make whoever she was trying to appeal to with that stuff feel a lot less safe about the idea of her potentially making life and death decisions?

That is a dangerous and as yet unproven proposition.

People that watch please dont be fooled!

Let's not forget "heck."

Since when was it "cool" to faux cuss during a debate? We ALL know what "Gosh darn" and "heck" are euphemisms for...

Or was this just another way to show how she's down home, and folksy, like Joe 6-pack? It just made her sound like an illiterate hick.

And the way she tried to steal Regan's line, "There you go again!" She must have waited for the opportunity to use that line!

Palin's constant evasiveness (devolving into surreal non-sequitors at times), regurgitating the same old McCain talking points and tag lines, barf-inducing attempts at cutsie-ness and folksy-ness, and utter lack of gravitas should drive home the point like a railroad spike lobotomy; the only sane choice for Vice President is Joe Biden!

It was great to see Senator Biden connect to ordinary folks and working class Americans with more sincerity and genuineness in his little finger than the supposedly "just like us" Palin had in her whole body! He trounced her at her own game! Bravo Joe!

While Palin may have exceeded expectations just by showing up, she is clearly not qualified to be anything other than chairperson for the local PTA bake-sale; certainly not a heartbeat away from the most powerful position on the face of the planet.

My optimism only grows stronger with each passing day!

No matter what you have written----She did well!!!!

Your partisan views do little for the events that have just occurred. She has limited the perception of her as an empty airhead... which she is by the way.

She is now an airhead that can cram things!

Admission of a mistake is the first step towards changing it. They allowed the Republicans to choreograph her introduction once again... The Democrats need to smell the coffee and stop allowing the Rove camp lead in all this intrigue!! Darn it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guyfrombrooklyn, I couldn't agree more. I thought at one point in reading reviews on this debate that I had gone mad. This wasn't even CLOSE. Stupid people like Buchanan WILL talk about a candidate's looks because they can't focus on anything more substantial. Biden was incredibly impressive with his grasp of detail, great detail, based on history and experience, and his sincerity. Palin's endless apologia ended with "just vote for us, everything's gonna change". It was vapid. This woman is a gubernatorial Hallmark card with ZERO grasp of detail, the epitome of a vote-getter only under Will Roger's definition: "If you make an American think they're thinking they will love you, if you make an American THINK, they will hate you."

Well, it looks as if Palin has exceeded expectations during the debate. Of course, the only way she would not have exceeded expectations would have been to fall on the floor, drooling.

That said, her overuse of her “folksy” language was certainly off-putting. I’m bettin’ a lot of the folks in the red states are eating that up, though. Look, I like Mr. & Mrs. Six-Pack; I’m one of them. But I am not qualified to be POTUS or VPOTUS. The other Six-Packers aren’t either.

Finally, Mrs. Palin, as Governor of Alaska, makes OVER $80,000 PER YEAR. How many average Americans are in that pay bracket? She's trying to come off as Josephine Six-Pack when she makes OVER $80,000 PER YEAR? And people are buying this? WTF?

I don't know where you live but here, in Silicon Valley, a good plumber makes more than the governor of Alaska. I'm not sure that's where you want to draw the line.
