Making its U.S. debut, Vroom Vroom Vroom is an international car-rental Web site that hopes to make rentals both easier and more eco-friendly.

Originally launched in Australia, the site allows customers to book reservations with all the major rental companies including Hertz, Alamo and Budget, at over 2,000 locations in the U.S.

Vroom Vroom Vroom will also give customers carbon offset credits for each rental at no additional cost. Additionally, there are no cancellation fees. You can visit the vroomvroomvroom.com Web site.

I am glad they took the time to photograph the guy spilling gas out of the end of the pump nozzle. That just evaporated into the atmosphere leaving a benzene residue on the ground. When you are done filling your tank, twist the tip of the nozzle upward and then hold it upright. Imagine 700 million cars being fueled carelessly as this individual demonstrates.

Not cool. I went to their website, used their standard options for Boston and they gave me the links to the same old same old rental companies. NOT ONE PRIUS on the list of offered vehicles. One guzzler worse than the next.

That, my dear, is not green. Carbon offsets for gasoline burnt in road rage is not the option. Give me a Prius and I am happy. No carbon offsets necessary because I know I have done well. But this thing is a simple sham.
