As much as I do not think she is qualified, you have to give her props for having the chutzpa to get up there and face Biden.
I can get up on stage and face Biden. Just because I've got "chutzpa" doesn't mean I'm qualified to be VP.
I agree she's brave. Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to be very smart, except at memorization.
I don't think it has to do with chutzpa, I think it has to do with a completely unrealistic sense of her abilities and importance, both of which get amplified by her desires.
I truly don't think she can distinguish between playing at doing something and what it really means to do it.
I keep looking for the right metaphor for this, and what keeps coming up is a conversation I had with a 10 year old a while back. I'm a horse owner and rider, and have been for lots of years. I am still learning, every day, what is involved in this art form -- movement, balance, communication, etc. When I mentioned to this little girl that I had horses, she said, "Oh, yeah, I rode a horse once. I know how to do that." She understood so little about it she didn't realize she didn't understand it.
I keep having the same feeling about Sarah Palin.
A desire, a modicum of a lightweight, slight, glancing experience, and she assumes she has mastery.
I don't think bravery has anything to do with it. I think narcissism and delusion does.
She also had her cue cards to remind her of the questions she had to ask herself and what lines she had to use. I doubt she had planned out how many "you betcha's" and winks but she definitly had too many "fact's" wrong for those who pay attention. The flirty ways and her down home crap led me to believe that her prep included "Tammy Does Washington in St Louis". The shout out was typical for a small town debate not someone on national/international cable. We have had one doofus for 8 years and I would hope that the world doesn't see us as challenged in education to the point that they represent the best we have.
