I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Friday night on the Late Show, it was a meeting of the two most prominent media personalities spurned by the McCain campaign -- Brian Williams and David Letterman.

Neither man is terribly happy about being rejected by McCain-land, but they both manage to maintain their sense of humor. Here's video:

Earlier in the show, Letterman had a number of zingers from McCain in his monologue. This one jumped out at me:

John McCain loved Palin's debate performance. Matter of fact, he applauded so much, all the lights in his home kept on going on and off.

The great tragedy of this election season is the abuse of Sarah Palin. Not by the media - but by the McCAin camp. She is being used as a prop, and when they lose Palin will be dumped like an old Halloween Pumpkin. ...............

She allowed it so I feel not pity for this dimwit. She is an opportunist and very ignorant. Makes one wonder how she passed her courses in college. She clearly has no comprehension skills.

Don't you just like NBC and CBS working together for CHANGE!

Was it just me or does Brian seem a little PISSED that he hasn't had a chance to interview Sarah Palin yet?

I noticed that too and was pleasantly surprised!

But Brian was correct when he said she had TWO interviews... Clearly ignoring the HANNITY interview which we all know was an infomercial.

Campbell Brown's "free Sarah Palin" rant was instrumental in framing the debate--will Sarah Palin be a freed up loose cannon? Well, yes. So, intentionally or not, she set Palin up for a win.

What I really cannot see is Sarah Palin sitting at the head of Congress with a gavel. Cheney does it now.

I think that when a VP candidate basically gets a free ride- like only doing one debate and two interviews (and camplains the reason she didn't do well was because a world class anchor "annoyed" here)- she gets what she deserves on late night tv. It's becoming satire. see definition at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satire

I love how he got a subtle dig in on how she has only done two network interviews. I guess he doesn't think much of Hannity's supposed interview either.

This was Sarah Palin's response when she heard John McCain was pulling out of Michigan: "Say it ain't so, John"

I'm slowly fallin in love with Letterman. :) Guys, I sit on this computer debating and blogging my thoughts about this election hoping my words are resonating. Still nothing compares to being able to voice your opinion on national television in front of millions. I thank Letterman for being a sorrogate for the people like myself that cannot stand the thought of Palin in the White House.

Can I say this also? All this bull about Obama not having enough experience to be president could be true. Actually, no one is ever prepared to be a president that is why they need advisors etc etc . Seriously with all my heart. ..There is just something special about Obama that makes me trust his judgement.. Every now and then you get a diamond in the rough and to me that is Obama, he's got it. Obama is not my god I don't idolize the man I'm just convinced that he will be a great president. As for Palin, She makes me squint my eyes, nod my head and tell myslef what in the world is that? Are you kiddin me? Just looking at that ticket with the fragile old man and the folksy Governor from nowhere that bare the same principles as GWB.. i'ts awful and scary.

Actually, my standards have gone down so low after 8 years that I'd be happy to have a president that speaks in complete sentences.

And a VP that stays a VP without pushing to change the Constitution.
