Electoral Map Changes

New York Times:

The turmoil on Wall Street and the weakening economy are changing the contours of the presidential campaign map, giving new force to Senator Barack Obama's ambitious strategy to make incursions into Republican territory, while leading Senator John McCain to scale back his efforts to capture Democratic states.

Joe Volger, founder of the Alaska Independence Party of which Todd and Sarah Palin are members:

"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. And I won't be buried under their dam n flag. I'll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home."

Don't let McPalin apologists try to tell you this association has been debunked. See for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xmt0rLtgmK0

I watched an anchor on fox news try to interrogate a surrogate for obama after the VP debate. The respect of a persons opinion or point was attacked with anger and resentment at a level that was unprofessional and childish. Maybe his team perhaps is losing.

Fox news is at it again, linking Obama to shady people and suggesting this would carry over into and OB administration. Is there anything that can be done to prevent malicious lies being spread by a television network...I mean protest or boycott their sponsers. I know this has been an issue on the forums many times. Is there an FCC regulation that prevents malicious comments when they can offer no proof during the story?

How's that duel-citizenship working out for you, Mr. Murdoch? He's got major corporations tanking on BOTH sides.

They are nothing but liars! He didn't do any business with a shady conman because he wanted a better garden for his house!

We should have a protest about it - I'm serious. We can let them smear him this way!

It's really sickening. Fortunately, Faux News has thrown out what credibility they might have had once. Their ratings have been tanking for years!

Were any polls taken after Reverend Moon voted to approve the bailout for rich bankers?

"Robert A. Gleason Jr., the state’s Republican chairman, said that recent polls suggesting that Mr. Obama was building a lead were misleading, noting that the state was filled with the kind of blue-collar voters with whom Mr. Obama has struggled for much of the year to connect. “Obama is not catching on here,” Mr. Gleason said."

Last 4 PA polls.... 12 15 8 7 for Obama.
Well maybe all 4 polls are off by 15 percent or something...

“Senator Obama has more money than God, the most favorable political climate imaginable — a three-week Wall Street meltdown and financial crisis — and with all that, the most margin he can get is four points?” said Bill McInturff, one of Mr. McCain’s pollsters. “That does speak to the questions there are about lack of experience, his candidacy, and other things that make people say, ‘Gosh, is he really ready?’ ”

Typical Republican line. Obama doesn't have a 20 point lead because race does matter to a lot of people. Even then, he's still beating McCain. People, we still need to get him elected, we still need to VOTE him in. Vote!

If John was up by 4 points they would be crowing about their big lead.

Man, the spin on that should have made him dizzy.

No doubt he has less of a margin because he's black. Huge hurdle to overcome in a country based on hate and racism.

So, the McCain statedgy to smear Barack even more may be turned arund on them. This could be huge. Barack will not have to smear them, the State of Alaska may do the job for him.

I think it would begin by a censure from her party and her state ligislature while they await an appeal. Because they will appeal it.

If that would happen, the McCain Camp will be in a bigger state of chaos and panic than they already are.

Here in a red county in Northern California I went out to register voters last week. Everyone who passed by (and I mean EVERYONE) was already registered and I don't believe all of them are Republicans. The Obama campaign has been actively registering here since early in the summer and almost all bumper stickers I see are Obama. This election is all about registration, GOTV and also getting out in front of voter suppression. The Obama has contacted those of us with legal backgrounds to help on the latter and so it seems, as usual, they are on top of things. So I hope if anyone sees anything suspicious or voting irregularities of any kind, they will take names and numbers and report to the proper authorities.

Obama is going to win this thing. On a list of a (baker's) dozen reasons why, #6:

6. The Even Keel Factor: In this case, the younger man, Obama, seems to have a more even temperament than the older candidate. This undermines a potential advantage for McCain and also defies expectations, namely, that age should bring a more even temper. (McCain’s anger problem is for real.) Americans believe that we need a steady hand on the rudder in these difficult times.

Remember 14 states still have electronic voting by ESS and Diebold now calling itself Premiere among others, with no way of verifying the actual vote..!

That's the real worry that the Republicans will steal the election again..

We need landslide numbers for Obama, to ensure a legitimate election and true outcome..!

We need to push for early voting. I think the Obama site has a webpage to where you can communicate with people in other states that has early voting.

McCain has nowhere to go now but down. He can run away from President Bush, but he can't run away from the Republican Party. The Republicans will be regarded from now on as "the party that wrecked America." Over the weeks ahead, as carnage in the economy and the financial markets ramps up, it will become increasingly clear. It is important that this meme be spread through the internet. I urge all commentators to adopt and spread the idea that the Republicans are "the party that wrecked America." It will work because it is the truth. Use it freely. Spread the word.
