Electoral Map Changes

New York Times:

The turmoil on Wall Street and the weakening economy are changing the contours of the presidential campaign map, giving new force to Senator Barack Obama's ambitious strategy to make incursions into Republican territory, while leading Senator John McCain to scale back his efforts to capture Democratic states.

The Democrats must work hard to help get Americans back to work. Americans need JOBS.....good paying JOBS here in America.

Tell the Republicans to stop allowing their rich fat cat friends to out source the American people JOBS! The Republicans have destroyed our ECONOMY with their Deregulations, Out source of JOBS, and their illegal and immoral Iraq war.

With the former Democratic President William Jefferson Clinton, the Democrats gave the American people, a balanced budget and a SURPLUS.

The Republicans, what have they given us? DEBT, DEBT, DEBT, and a Republican RECESSION, highest unemployment rate in years, and the biggest financial crisis since the great DEPRESSION.

Just say NO! to the Republicans greed, lies, wars, deregulations, and their rich fat cat friends! Period.

The Palin Problem COVER STORY: POLITICS
Yes, she won the debate by not imploding. But governing requires knowledge, and mindless populism is just that—mindless.

You can't "win" a debate without answering some of the questions.

First Michigan and Pennsylvania. How long until John McCain is waving the white flag of surrender in Arizona?

"When Putin Rears His Head"
--A poem by Sarah Palin

When Putin rears his head, It is from Alaska
That we send those out
To make sure that an eye
Is being kept
On this
Very powerful nation
Russia,
Because they are right there.
Because we are Mavericks.

Questinia, I think you should be nominated for the Nobel prize for poetry. A tear is running down my cheek at this very moment.

When I chat with my conservative acquaintances I have found that the line that works the best is when I make the following analogy - Look, Don Shula was a great coach, once, but the game passed him by. McCaln is yesterday and that's his problem.

I always get thoughtful nods ... it's a real nagging doubt, and then I say - And who is next in line? Palln?

That's when they say - yeah, that is a problem and shake their heads.

McCain can afford to have one fall off, since he's got two of them.

Gwen Ifill,
NBC's "Meet the Press"

Gwen Ifill spoke about her experience moderating Thursday's vice-presidential debate. She said in one instance Sarah Palin "blew me off" when asked a question, opting rather to speak "directly to the American people," as Governor Palin put it at the time.

"Joe Biden," Ms Ifill said, "decided he was going to debate John McCain and [Sarah Palin] decided she was going to give a stump speech to the American people."

"If she wasn't challenged on the things she said that were not completely correct and if she wasn't challenged on changing the subject...by her competitor, I had another job at the table," Ms Ifill said.

Why would we care? Do you think 71 year old John McCain and his wife Cindy have ever benefitted from plastic surgery? Grow up. This election is serious business and plastic surgery isn't an issue here among the grown-ups.

WASHINGTON - By claiming that Democrat Barack Obama is "palling around with ter*rorists" and doesn't see the U.S. like other Americans, vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin targeted key goals for a faltering campaign.

And though she may have scored a political hit each time, her attack was unsubstantiated and carried a racial*ly tinged subtext that John McCain himself may come to regret.

All claims are documented and substantiated.....and I suggest this AP writer investigate it if he doesn't think so. Why hasn't he done that already? Get on that right away Douglass! The dems always bring race into it! Not surprising!

*** What About The Cell Phone Generation ***

Can't poll them yet they are highly predictable!

Last election this voting bloc (under 30) voted at a 42% turnout ... and they were no where near as motivated as this election cycle.

Charlie Cook pointed out a few weeks ago that if this group turns out a 60% showing all the current electoral maps can be thrown out the window and ...

McCain would be lucky to win Arizona!

Gallup has Cell numbers incorporated into it now so we may be looking at actual numbers

Methodology

Survey Methods

For the Gallup Poll Daily tracking survey, Gallup is interviewing no fewer than 1,000 U.S. adults nationwide each day during 2008.

The general-election results are based on combined data from Oct. 1-3, 2008. For results based on this sample of 2,703 registered voters, the maximum margin of sampling error is ±2 percentage points.

Interviews are conducted with respondents on land-line telephones (for respondents with a landline telephone) and cellular phones (for respondents who are cell phone only).

In addition to sampling error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls.

"Gallup has Cell numbers incorporated into it now so we may be looking at actual numbers"

They say that but they have never explained how they get the numbers so ... I don't believe it!

Cell phone numbers are not like landlines ... unless you give the number to a polling company they would have no way of getting it or knowing it.

Being a huckster by branding yourself a maverick , or : Branding yourself a maverick who goes around advertising for a huckster.
