The US is about to join the family of nations and learn how to get along with its neighbors whether it wants to or not. There’s simply no other choice; the dollar is falling, the deficits are soaring, and the financial markets are in a shambles. Wow.

I think that was the most fascinating, honest discussion about this election so far by a mainstream source. It's evident that they are all in agreement that Obama is likely to win. But most intriguing, is that they are sincerely urging McCain (and Obama) to not go negative as is typical of a tight race -- even if it means a discreet concession from McCain. We are in a unique time and our nation is in a precarious position that calls for a level of maturity and quiet patriotism to heal our country enough so that we may stand strong together and fight against these odds. McCain could bring back the respect and good will he once shared across party lines if he showed the country that level of maturity and dedication to country -- if he showed us that he would truly rather lose a campaign than further divide the nation politically.

We need a broad, sweeping change. No matter your age, no matter your party affiliation, it should be obvious that we need fresh ideas to compete in a rapidly changing age of technology and globalization. We need a broad, sweeping strategy that will begin the process of retooling our economic infrastructure from the age of oil to the age of clean, renewable energy. America can do this, and Barack Obama can lead the way.
