New York Times:

The turmoil on Wall Street and the weakening economy are changing the contours of the presidential campaign map, giving new force to Senator Barack Obama's ambitious strategy to make incursions into Republican territory, while leading Senator John McCain to scale back his efforts to capture Democratic states.

Crisis: a situation that has reached a critical phase. We go from crisis to crisis now and now It is way more than a crisis. It is total destruction of the financial system. Things will get much worse. All the while there is an election going on. The perfect storm. Things will get worse because the solutions are archaic. We are overdeveloped and overpopulated. Until we look at these two huge problems we will keep going from crisis to crisis.

Outrageous !!!! "Dept. of Defense psychiatrists have evaluated McCain for PTSD 'several times,' the results of which remain 'locked' by privacy laws."

Totally outrageous ... that the american people (the world for that matter) may not know the full extent of Mc's mental facilities is rediculous .... who the he^l are we electing??? Who will be charged with certain BUTTONS !!

This is unacceptable !!! The nation should not accept this explanation of a "locked" box of vital information!

My 17 year old had to take a drug test and submit to a background check in order to get a job answering the phone twice a week for 2 hours at her public high school.

Candidates for POTUS and VPOTUS should have to submit to extensive physical and psychological testing the results of which should be made available to the American people.

Nor should we accept the "locked box" of Obama associations and pals!

Now you know that the McCain camp has just about surrendered when all they have are lies and old sme-ar to offer.

They have nothing else. They can't talk about the issues, because they are on the wrong side of the issues! People aren't buying their agenda, so they're trying to distract them again away from what really matters.

McCain wants to change the subject again and focus on his pitbull's lipstick and the lies and dirt that she spe-ws.

not only they can not talk about the issues because THEY HAVE NO IDEAS ON HOW TO FIX OR HANDLE THE ISSUES.. and thats pathetic.. the only support the mccain camp have are votes against Obama, he has no support for him.. and thats the total wrong strategy to try to win, because there more people for Obama than they are agaist him.

Do you ever have anything really educated to say?

The fundamental flaw in Obama's argument is that he points to the failing of the current administration with the assumption that his core philosophy is better for our nation. But is that correct? Can we naturally assume that an Obama administration would be better for the nation just because of the failures of the Bush Administration? If Obama wins it will be primarily because of a protest vote. The Democrats took control of congress in the same way, and look at where we are now. We went from worse to EVEN WORSE. I think that any intellectually honest person would be hard pressed to find were the Democratic congress has made real progress with their 14% approval rating. They failed on drilling--this means they are out of line with 75% of the country. Don Cazoux, a congressman in my home state is actually lying and saying that he opposed his OWN PARTY on drilling when he actually casted the tie-breaking vote to GO ON VACATION. They broke a twenty year record in failing to present a budget, they have been overseeing the financial institutions for the last couple of years. The point is that Obama isn't necessarily the BETTER choice just because of the failure of the Bush administration; he is just the OTHER choice, and that doesn't neccessarily mean he will improve things.

And no thanks, I can do my own thinking. I'll leave failed philosophies such as "moral relativism" to the secular progressives.

Anyone who puts "I can do my own thinking" in the same sentence suggesting that this country needs another Republican administration is akin to saying "I'm a diabetic. Load me up with sugar, dam nit!"

"The Democrats took control of congress..."
**** Fundamental flaw #1 in your lofty argument.
As someone that is supposedly looking at the way things have been going in an intellectual manner, you fail to recognize that a majority of ONE does not indicate "control" of Congress. The fact of the matter is that without at least 17 votes from party-before-country Republicans, Bush's veto pen stands at the ready.
That you think you are able to blame Democrats for the low approval rating indicates that you're every bit as discerning and/or knowledgeable about the machinations of Congress, as most people that participate in the polls you cite. That, or you're just being disingenuous to make your obvious anti-Obama point.
I'm guessing the latter.

Okay Chiguy, if we interpolate your thinking as stated above, then I don't want to hear another word of how good things were because of Clinton. All the accomplishments of that presidency should then be credited to the Repulican controlled Congress! So about time we gave credit where credit is due. The only thing Clinton did alone, was to bring us 9 / 11!

Yay! Finally someone who speaks up for Americans. Drill Baby Drill!!!

Lets fill the coastlines and horizons with oil platforms so Big Oil can get even richer and coat ALL of America's beaches with oil and gunk! I'm mean it's there, so lets take it! And John Mc even said oil platforms draw fish and are really good for fishing. Now you know. Yay!

DRILL BABY DRILL!!! Sarah Palin (the Governor who fought Big Oil for the people and won)

"They failed on drilling--this means they are out of line with 75% of the country."
**** Again, you write as though you assume that that supposed 75% actually know what is involved in drilling, and the amount of time were drilling approved, to actually seeing the product at the pump.
You are either purposely deceptive, or are as grossly, poorly informed about the topic, as most people are, concerning what is really involved.
I'm guessing the former.

"...that doesn't neccessarily mean he will improve things."
**** Given McCain's stated policies on SO many issues, and how they fall right into line with Bush's already ridiculously dismal efforts, Obama could not help but improve things just by showing up. But he'll do FAR more than that.
McCain would simply be a continuation of the past 8years of failure. Good luck with that.

We still have to vote in overwhelming numbers.

They will use voter caging and other kinds of dirty tricks to disqualify every vote for Obama that they can in these swing states.

Its almost like the McCain campaign has decided to wave the much-dreaded White Flag of Surrender--people are scratching their heads. Didm't the Maverick swear that he would stay in Michigan for the next 100 years, if he had to? Or maybe I'm just gettingthat confused with some other untrue thing the old man blurted out without thought

McCain can't handle the economic crisis so he has his pi-tbull with lipstick dishing dirt instead.
Some plan for rescuing America!
What they really have to offer is empty promises and more despair.

They are closing the door on the problems afflicting Americans at this time and trying to distract them with lies and smear!

Isn't McCaln's palling around with G. Gordon Liddy, going to fund raisers at Liddy's house at least on par with 0bama's alleged "pallin'" around with Ayers? Liddy refused to apologize for his role in the Watergate break in and considered his incarceration on par with being a prisoner of war. Sounds like a radical, anti-American to me.

Show another problem in this country....how rediculous our judicial system is doesn't it?

And a comment for borderorder above, I would not compare watergate to Ayers admitting to his intent on bombing Soldiers and their loved ones at Fort Dix NJ.....like a true dem, your priorities are a little out of whack!

What about McCain's "palling around" with Charles Keating? That friendship only cost us $500 billion.

Too late Gwen Ifill!!!

Gwen Ifill,
NBC's "Meet the Press"

Gwen Ifill spoke about her experience moderating Thursday's vice-presidential debate. She said in one instance Sarah Palin "blew me off" when asked a question, opting rather to speak "directly to the American people," as Governor Palin put it at the time.

"Joe Biden," Ms Ifill said, "decided he was going to debate John McCain and [Sarah Palin] decided she was going to give a stump speech to the American people."

"If she wasn't challenged on the things she said that were not completely correct and if she wasn't challenged on changing the subject...by her competitor, I had another job at the table," Ms Ifill said.
