What a great speech. I can't believe someone would let race keep them from during what's best for them and their family.
This is "Joe Sixpack." How empassioned! I just sent this link to some of my union friends.
He was convincing, connected w/the audience and didn't wink not once. LOVE it!
This speech gives me hope. A beautiful, impassioned speech.
American white working-class union members have got to finally drop the racism and vote their economic interests, or else suffer through Depression with a "D," as the Republican fat cats keep ruining the American economy with their trickle down war on the very Reagan Democrats they always con into voting for them with "cultural issues," including race-baiting. Ever since George Wallace conned the auto-workers of Michigan into voting for him in '68, the Republicans have used racism nationwide to fool dumb white union workers into voting for their corporate elite class enemies. Let's hope that THIS year these white people (I'm white) stop being so stupid, wake up, and vote for a candidate who will finally put THEIR best interest at the center of his administration's economic program.
WOW! I was crying all the way through it. This man spoke very powerful words. Everything he said was true and it has to be said!! I so hope people listen.
Very well put, verying inspiring. This is the movements that have been taking place all over the country.
God Bless, and Obama-Biden "08"
awesome! Dig it! Vote it up.
The only reason my in-laws are Republican is Racism. They will vote against their best interest every time, and their in the Chicago south suburbs. Sad.
But there are other stories too. My mom lives in Oregon now. A lifelong republican who watches FauxNews (ccough,co
Proud Obama/Biden supporter.
If I could give a speech before a huge crowd of people, that would be the speech. Thank you, Richard Trumka, for saying everything America needs to hear.
I have been documenting this historic moment since the winter of 2007 when Obama declared his candidacy. Fortunately, real media player has a download manager that allows you to record streaming video.
I have never heard a speech as open and frank as the one I just heard. For my generation, this is the moment where we have an opportunity to look back 30 years from now and see this as our time of transition into the future. If we neglect to vote, this will be a squandered opportunity.
Obama was right, this is the future v/s the past. This is our time.
Wow. What a speech. Proof you can deliver a powerful message in plain language without losing coherence.
The world needs more men & women of this caliber. Mr. Trumka, you have done your country proud.
Amen, brother. Amen.
We are the ones we have been waiting for.
An honest and unexpectedly touching speech.
