I'd love to see this guy give a nationally televised speech on labor issues and race,
Fantastic!
This was really great. I had often hoped that somebody would find the right rhetoric to put the election into the right perspective. MAY GOD BLESS YOU !!!!!!
I was so moved that I couldn't stop myself from crying.
Get this guy out there! Is this from July 1st though? I wonder why this didn't go viral earlier.
It didn't go viral because people don't like to hear the truth. They all still have their heads in the sands even though they know in their hearts that McCain is just another Bush who knows nothing about the economy and everything about wars.
WOW, I love this man
All I can say after watching this video is WOW :)
Honestly, its better than anything i have heard big name Obama supporters say
I worked in a union shop for a while and it was strange how people of all races could work together fine and get along at work and then make little racist comments when in certain company. People need to realize that the guy they got along with during work hours is not a bad guy when the whistle blows.
Hopefully, more people will start listening to people like the man in the video. We need people getting past this silliness.
WOW! Thank you Mr. Trumka. You are a true American hero and I wish we had more people like you who love this country and are concerned about its future. God bless you.
I don't know who this guy is but if anyone has an email or contact number please post it so I can send him a word of thanks.
Richard Trumka serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of the AFL-CIO, , he was elected in 1995. He previously was president of the United Mine Workers from 1982 to December 22, 1995. Trumka was born in Nemacolin, PA, a third-generation coal miner who went to work in the mines at age 19. He attended Penn State U and his law degree from Villanova. While president of the UMWA, Mr. Trumka led the successful nine-month strike against the Pittston Coal Company. It became a rallying symbol for the entire labor movement. A major issue in the dispute was Pittston's refusal to pay into the industry wide health and retirement fund created in 1950. Trumka encouraged non-violent civil disobedience to confront the company in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and relied on a sophisticated corporate campaign involving Wall Street investors. Besides his fighting aggressively against employers on behalf of his members, then-President Trumka established an office that raised U.S. mine worker solidarity with the mineworkers of South Africa while they were fighting racial apartheid.
Thank You Richard!
I speak to people in my community that think they are Republican, They are losing jobs, houses, etc. Can't afford daycare, Medical, etc. and they think they are Republican. I Tell them I've got news, You can't afford to be Republican. You're a Democrat and you don't know it. The only reason they have McCain signs in their yards, ONLY REASON, is the color of Barack's skin. BTY we have 3 Barack signs in our yard. And we live in Republican country in Texas! It's time once again... to stand up, stop walking on eggshells about this issue and FACE FACTS! Talk about it to people! For God Sakes EVEN IF SOME IDIOT brings up race as an issue,Which I can't fathom, I throw it in their faces that, well, he's half white and he was raised by white people. So now what's your excuse? Their is NO logical reason whatsoever to vote for McCain. NONE. Now I know this is a strong statement.
Like many here, this did make me cry. If you follow CNN, MSNBC and sometimes FOX, you get so frustrated with some of the comments the media are making or reporting upon. You start to think you are alone is seeing the nonsence and start to build your own racism against people. You start to think all white people think Obama is a Muslim or that being a Muslim is something wrong.
And then you see the passion and conviction of this Joe Six Pack, white man and it just chokes you up. We are not alone. We not only can come together, we are together. I'm still crying with relief.
yes,yes,yes!!!!run it EVERYWHERE!NOW!what a guy!
