Mary Poppins

Anne Hathaway hosted Saturday Night Live October 4th to promote her movie "Rachel Getting Married." In addition to an opening sketch with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin at the VP debate, with Queen Latifah guesting, the show did a C-SPAN sketch on the bailout:

Anne Hathaway played Mary Poppins (Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is a fatal disease):

Andy Sandberg played Mark Wahlberg talking to animals ("Say hi to your mother for me."):

The Lawrence Welk show, with a scary sister act:

The digital short was an extreme activities competition:

And here's the debate opener if you missed it:

Samburg as Wahlberg was SO FUNNY. It was the stupidest sketch, but my husband and I are still laughing about it! "Say hi to your mutha for me!"

What happened to the C-Span Bailout skit? I've looked all over the internet, including the SNL site and it's been pulled everywhere? Why is this being censored? Does anyone know?

The answer to your question is very simple.......THE DEMOCRATIC CENSORS HAVE SCRUBBED IT FROM THE INTERN.......SO MUCH FOR BIPARTISAN COMEDY.

I just watched it at hulu.com. So much for a liberal cover-up....

I found it later. I read that it was pulled to remove an offensive on-screen written remark and then reposted. I was not trying to insuate a liberal/conservative/ or any other cover-up. I just wondered why it was removed.

Anne turned my knees to jelly... Tina's flute scene left my stomach and windpipe in need of stitches.

SNL is bad for my health!

I love the Poppins skit with Annie H singing beautifully. We need more musical comedies starring her and others in movie theaters and less lame satires like American Carol and Another [Genre] Movie.

i can't remember the title, but that musical that came out last year was a pretty big hit, so i'm sure you'll see a few in the next year or so.

Anne Hathaway is not given many opportunity's to show what a great singing voice she really has.

She was wonderful and sounds a whole lot like her co-star in "Princess Diaries", Julie Andrews. I'd love to see her in a full-on musical, like a revival of "My Fair Lady".

I like Hathaway on the screen but sort of thought her monologue fell short.

The best part was when Pelosi tricks Bush into thinking that the sub-prime mortgage crisis was his fault when it was actually the fault of Congressional Democrats.

That was hilarious.

Hathaway's self-deprecating monologue was pretty good, too.
