Obama Ad Responds To Coming Attacks, Calling McCain Erratic

Responding quickly to the character assaults being launched his way, Barack Obama is out with a new ad Sunday morning that, while attempting to place his candidacy above the fray, also digs John McCain as "erratic."

"Three quarters of a million jobs lost this year. Our financial system in turmoil. And John McCain? Erratic in a crisis. Out of touch on the economy. No wonder his campaign's announced a plan to "turn a page on the financial crisis"...distract with dishonest, dishonorable "assaults" against Barack Obama."

The spot, titled "This Year," is a familiar touch for those who have followed Obama's campaign strategy. He denounces news of an impending attack - in this case a McCain strategist telling the Washington Post that the Arizona Republican wants to shine the spotlight more on Obama's personal associations and fitness for office - while simultaneously taking a whack himself. It has worked, to certain degrees in the primary and general election.

The ad, the campaign says, will air on national cable starting on Monday,

I am watching this Sean Hannity crap on Faux News on Sunday night and he spends a lot of time "looking" for Obama's college transcripts. Why does he never delve into McCain's transcripts from the Naval Academy or Palin's 5 colleges in 6 years. Given that McCain was in the bottom 5 in a class of almost 900 and Palin clearly had trouble staying in school, it seems like there is a lot more interesting "stuff" to investigate with those two.

Given Obama's success in college and graduate school, why is Sean so worried about Obama...oh yea, I forgot he is black. The fear machine is in full gear at Faux News!!

Obama himself needs to face McCain about McCain's sleaze. He should tie McCain to Bush at the same stroke:

"John, you said I pal around with terrorists. Your polls go down, you call me a terrorist. Are you really trying to get the White House the same way Bush did, by lying to the American people? Sit tight. I think the Obama campaign will handle what is coming appropriately. I think that the attacks from McCain will be so vicious and dishonest that it will totally turn people off and show that McCain and his campaign have nothing left in their arsenal and had to resort to baseless negative attacks.

And McCain is the LAST person to try and call someone out on associations. All Obama has to do is tell the truth about McCain and that will be sufficient. He doesn't have to lie or make anything up. That's the beauty of it.
