ABC News:

Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin will visit Omaha, Neb., on Sunday, an official from the McCain-Palin campaign has confirmed, signaling an attempt to shore up a traditionally reliable red state from efforts by the Obama campaign to capture one of the state's key electoral votes.

After a fundraising event in the San Francisco Bay Area on Sunday, Palin will travel to Omaha to hold a rally Sunday evening at the Omaha Civic Auditorium, in the heart of Nebraska's second congressional district. Palin was originally scheduled to fly directly from California to Florida on Sunday, but the Omaha rally was added late on Saturday, according to the McCain campaign.

"The heels are on, but the gloves are off!" nyuk nyuk.

Cheap. Pathetic.

What's worse, is how many Americans think that is hilarious. We the Sheeple...

I was there. Not at the rally, but across the street with other Obama supporters having a blast needling Republicans. My oh my are they touchy! I sensed a great deal of angst on the part of the know-nothings. Believe me, they are running scared. For the first time I felt like we really could do this.

Defending traditional states? No, no no... it's called running away with your tail between your legs.

Greetings from Omaha (besides Tomomaha). I nearly choked on my drink when I heard Palin was going to be here today. There's an awful lot of Obama signs in my neighborhood, so I'm crossing my fingers we can give the Democrats at least one electoral vote! It might not be much, but God, we need to get rid of the Red Curse.

Heard that Palin led the audience in a chant of "Drill here...drill now!" NOW? Under Omaha?

I would have thought if there were substantial oil reserves under Nebraska it would have been discovered long ago?

Are Nebraskan Republicans so witless that they don't realize this?

And Omaha is a long ways from "off-shore"...so where precisely is this ban that would be preventing drilling there?

It might do some good, though. They might hit aquifer!

Personally, I think this story about each side going after a single electoral vote in either Maine or Nebraska is pure silliness and hype, used by each side to try to fake out and distract the other side. Sure, there are plenty of scenarios where each side gets to 269. But the strategy isn't to spend our resources getting a single extra vote (in a place that's unlikely to give it to us). The strategy is go out and win at least one of the true toss-up States - Virginia, Florida, Colorado, Ohio. That makes everything else irrelevant. This story is just silliness for the foolhardy.

And if people in Ohio, Virginia, Florida, and especially, especially Colorado hear that even Omaha may be going Blue - it helps tip them over.

And don't laugh at 1 electoral vote.

Remember 569 votes in Florida!

Good point!

I don't really understand what the McCain-Palin campaign is trying to do in some of these places> I mean Carson, California? That's smack dab in the middle of two large Democratic Congressional districts. The Republicans would have to limo'd in from miles away. And are they serious? They aren't gonna do squat in California.

And Iowa...McCain goes to Iowa and the only thing he did was an interview with the Des-Moines Register where he came off as Capt. Queeg.

And now Plain goes to Nebraska...trying to win that one electoral vote?

Next she's going to North Carolina. That means that internal polling (confirming the polls of the evil, lying MSM) showing that State is at risk. Obama's ccompeting and drawing resources in North Carolina???

Greetings from Omaha!

She drew half the crowd Obama drew here during the caucus in February.

I was out canvassing in a blue collar (and increasingly Hispanic) neighborhood I grew up in, and there is at least half of people have not made up their minds. My intuition tells me that they will come home to the Democratic party after living in the wilderness as Reagan Democrats.

I hope she flew off to Florida. Otherwise she's sleeping in a hotel 5 minutes walk from my apartment. YUCK!

Thanks, tom, for doing the heavy lifting in Nebraska.

When this is over, it will be individuals like you who will have saved the country for the rest of us.

Thanks for the hard work. I hope your intuition is right. Keep up the hard work.

Republicans having to defend their own turf is bad news for them, since these states should be gimmies

John pulling out of Michigan is only the beginning, I believe we'll see a domino effect and see John pull out of Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire, and focus on attempting to play defense in states that should automatically be in his column

Sending Palin to California was a JOKE, it would be like Barack sending Joe Biden to Utah.

NEBRASKANS! Don't give up--even though Arizona has been stuck with Mc Stoopid for 26 years there are a LOT of us who try again and again to get him out. Michigan saw through the GOP tactics, looks like Pennsylvania and Virginia are waking up too . . . get out and fight, you've got new young voters in line, you can come up with those 10K votes! (Pity us stuck here in Arizona because when he loses we have to take him back.)

Palin's going to Omaha because McCain's hedging his bets in case of an electoral tie. Nebraska is one of two states that apportions electoral votes and McCain wants to win Omaha.

This is huge. There is this big, thick, gluey, grey fatalism in the middle states about the electibility of anyone not in the GOP. To have that nasty curtain torn to shreds would be huge!

The Most Dangerous Things said in the VP Debate...
"..I may not answer the question the way the Moderator wants¦¦.."
How dangerous and what an omen this statement is. When most of us hear an elected official speak in this manner we shutter from recent experiences. The very nature of being an elected official is the antithesis of being obstinate.
A statement of this type says to the electorate, get prepared because when I"m elected I"m going to be stubborn in my purpose, my opinions, and I will not yield to argument, persuasion, or entreaty.

Maybe Sarah should be concerned about her own household. Check out this picture of the Palin family. Did the daughter learn this from her mother???? Somebody really needs to pick up on this. It has everything to do with Palin's parenting skills. If you cant run your own house, how can ya run the country?
