Virginia GOPer Writes Racist Anti-Obama Column

The LA Times reports:

A local newspaper columnist, in a spoof of Obama's platform, wrote in one recent piece that the Democrat would hire the rapper Ludacris to paint the White House black (a reference to a pro-Obama song by Ludacris), and divert more foreign aid to Africa so "the Obama family there can skim enough to allow them to free their goats and live the American Dream." He joked that Obama would replace the 50 stars on the U.S. flag "with a star and crescent logo," an Islamic symbol, and that his policy on drugs would be to "raise taxes to pay for Obama's inner-city political base."

The columnist, Bobby May, is also treasurer of the Buchanan County Republican Party and was listed in a July news release as the county's representative on McCain's Virginia leadership team, though he said his column reflected his views alone, and he denied it was racist.

Its sad that these stupid republicans show their true colors when something isn't going their way. America continues to be looked at by the rest of the world as a it's own worst enemy. For references likes these to be published for all to see is just beyond me. Maybe this country has too much freedom because its the very thing that we are so hell bent on spreading in other countries that keeps us in a constant battle with ourselves. Its sad that in the year 2008 there are still people around with this outdated and ignorant view. The more they launch racist attacks on Obama the harder it will be for McCain to win. It is time for these pro Islamic bigots like Bobby May to be exposed.

In the usual veneer of Christian fundamentalism, Obama is the ideal convert. On his father's side, he is a bone fide born again Christian, someone who made a personal choice for it over this father's Muslim background. Eldredge Cleaver move over.

On the other hand, despite their Christian backgrounds, McCain, Bush and others cosied up big time and provided unconditional access to the worst most anti-Christian forms of Islamic fundamentalism.

Mother church, Bobby May and his buds should no longer allowed to hide in your skirts and apron strings. Cut them lose.
