Alec Baldwin Imitates Sarah Palin (VIDEO)

Actor and activist Alec Baldwin appeared on "Real Time with Bill Maher" Friday night. At several points during his sitdown, in which he was joined by CNN's Christiane Amanpour and comedian Garry Shandling, Baldwin winked at the camera and put on an accent in imitation of Sarah Palin. On the show, which first aired live Friday night, much of the discussion was about the previous night's vice presidential debate.

As a political commentator, Alex Baldwin is a fine actor.

I am fed up seeing Alex Baldwin, Barbara Streisand, Sandra Bernhardt, John Voight, etc. getting valuable print and/or web space to express their opinions. Being a good singer, actor, or comedienne does not constitute a qualification for editorializing on matters of public policy.

If it was idiotic for Charlton Heston to get valuable air time for his opinions on the second amendment (and it was,) why are we expected to sit up and listen to the equally vacuous offerings of his cultural descendants?

These folks are just as entitled to air their opinions as anyone else. Whether you chose to listen or agree is up to you. Personally, if they have something to say that is intelligent and well argued, I'll listen to them just as soon as I'll listen to anyone else.

And sometimes, their well thought out intellectual opinion actually makes me respect them more.

They are citizens of the United States of Americas too. Being a celebrity shouldn't disqualify them from speaking out if they choose. At least they take a stand on issues and don't look to you or I to love them for it.
