Canadian Columnist's Palin Joke Draws Fox News Outrage

Heather Mallick, an opinion columnist for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Web site, is known for her use of humorous exaggeration. But last week after removing a column by Ms. Mallick, which said that Gov. Sarah Palin has "a toned-down version of the porn actress look" and suggested that Republican men were sexually inadequate, the government-owned CBC ruled that its opinion writers had to stick to the facts even when they were joking around.

Although the broadcaster's Web site, www.cbcnews.ca, has relatively few readers in the United States, Ms. Mallick's comments became an issue last month on the Fox News Channel, which, because of Canadian cable TV rules that limit its distribution, has relatively few viewers in Canada. Greta Van Susteren, the host of "On the Record," condemned the column as "beyond vicious" and repeatedly referred to Ms. Mallick as "a pig." A right-of-center columnist for The National Post, of Toronto, also criticized the column.

The CBC ombudsman, Vince Carlin, said in a report that his office had received more than 300 complaints about the column.

Without question, absolutely she was !
What came out of Palin's mouth in between the winks and body language on Thursday were blatant attempts to spread her fabricated lies and fictitious beliefs. She has no proven factual basis of her ideology.

She wanted to come across as Eye Candy for those republican men.

Yeah, we Canadians are entirely too snarky about Palin. I was in an optometrist shop today and said I kinda liked the Palin type glasses, tho I despised her and everything she stood for. The current lot of Republican's in this country are a very pompous bunch. They pride themselves on being smarter, morally superior, fiscally responsible, and generally above reproach. This is their sickness and downfall. Their arrogance and lack of humility after the dismal failures of the last 8 years is astonishing. To this day, they insist it's their way or the highway to anyone who questions their ideology.

It's a classic Republican hissy fit over Ms. Mallick. If they didn't prop themselves up to be the perfect people they are not, they'd just blow this off as crass humor which by the way we have tons of in the States; just watch Bill Maher!

And Fox just loves anything salacious. If they can trash somebody and grab the moral high ground, they'll mow down anyone in their way to do it. Funny thing is, FOX News has the biggest bunch of liars and propagandists this side of Orion.

I keep saying this, but here goes again... The past 8 years have been failures to you and me, but they have been an unqualified success for Bush and his buddies. So ask yourself this simple question: Have all the screw-ups been due to incompetence, or are they really just bits and pieces that couldn't be swept under the carpet as the neo-cons raped and pillaged the country ?!
Who's making tons of $$$ since the invasion of Iraq ? Big Oil & Haliburton are just 2 examples. Hmmm... Now, I wonder if there's anybody with ties to those organizations in the White House... (Hint: Bush & Cheney)
Look at a graph of the cost of oil since GW Bush and Iraq. If you're in the oil speculation business, how do you raise the price of oil ? Simple, CUT OFF flow from Iraq and keep doing things that destabilize in the middle east, like threatening Iran. Did you notice how Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld were so hell bent on going into Iraq "on the cheap". They fired any general who wanted more troops. But now, they don't even blink at the idea of spending $10 billion a month over there.
So, I ask again, as Wall St. gets it's $700B cheque... Was it really a dismal failure, or is it the greatest robbery in the history of the world ?

I saw a soft-porn magazine when I was young and if it wasn't for this comparison it would have not come back to me, but it was true, there was a Palin looking woman posing as a teacher enticing a young girl. My brother's magazine so I put it down quickly after browsing the raunchy pics and now I cannot even recall the name of the magazine. Go back like forty years ago. It wasn't Playboy but the other famous one at the time. Why do I mention this? because maybe that is the image that pops in these men when they see her.
