I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Monday on the "The View" Elisabeth Hasselbeck tried to defend John McCain on the subject of the Keating 5 while attacking Barack Obama over his relationship with Bill Ayers.

"This is not about smears," Hasselbeck insisted, adding moments later, "He [Obama] wants to hide all of his radical connections."

Watch Sherri, Whoopi and Barbara verses Elisabeth on Monday's show. Joy Behar was out.

I find it interesting, and a bit sad, that Elisabeth doesn't bring any substance to the conversations
on The View. She spews the same radical conservative sound bites that can be heard on Faux News.
Ms. Hasselbeck never seems to have an original thought, and acts like a petulant child when the other ladies point out that the majority of her statements are twisted to fit the conservative agenda, or are completely false. I would much prefer to have Elisabeth replaced with a freethinking conservative who could provide intelligent counterpoint. (Key word being intelligent) I enjoy the lively conversations
on The View, but the shrill, sarcastic Ms. Hasselbeck needs to be voted off the island. Wait...that was the other show she was on!

It's true.

Whatever she chooses to "discuss" on The View is just a repeat of what was said on Fox the night before.

I think it was on Sunday night that fox had an hour dedicated to Obama and his "terrorist" friends - and this video is from Monday.

Elizabeth: Since living in the same neighborhood as a Terrorist connects a person to him... Or being invited by the Politician (Obama's mentor) to the event in Ayers home, somehow also connects him to Terrorists...

Please Elizabeth do enlighten us all...

Does singing Amazing Grace, which was written by a former Slave Ship Captain, connect us to Slavery???
Are ALL Catholics also now connected to Pedofiles???
And since you're on the View, and had the Obama's on as guests, does that mean you support Terrorist connected people, Elizabeth???

Rattling off Republican talking points and spin does NOT make you, or Sarah Palin, appear to be very bright....

Now a conservative radio talk-show host, Liddy spent more than 4 years in prison for his role in the 1972 Watergate burglary. That was just one element of what Liddy did, and proposed to do, in a secret White House effort to subvert the Constitution. Far from repudiating him, McCain has embraced him. In 1998, Liddy's home was the site of a McCain fundraiser. Over the years, he has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to the senator's campaigns -- including $1,000 this year.

Last November, McCain went on his radio show. Liddy greeted him as "an old friend," and McCain sounded like one. "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family," he gushed. "It's always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great."

Liddy was in the thick of the biggest political scandal in American history -- and one of the greatest threats to the rule of law. He has said he has no regrets about what he did, insisting that he went to jail as "a prisoner of war."

Given Liddy's record, how does McCain explain his howling hypocrisy on the subject? He doesn't. That's an odd policy for someone who is so forthright about his rival's responsibility. McCain thinks Obama should apologize for associating with a criminal extremist. To which Obama might reply: After you.

Aside from his eating a rat to prove his manhood, and his involvement in Watergate, Liddy's other claim to fame is the setting up of a floating brothel in Biscayne Bay during the Republican Convention in Miami. Liddy wanted to make sure that all those moral Republican male delegates were kept in good humor. No one could ever prove that they were filmed during their dalliances, but Donald Sergetti hired 6 private investigators with filming experiences during that period. Just coincidental I suppose :-)

Criquet:

Excellent points !!!

See also Olberman's bit on Palin and her "domestic terrorist" on this site.

Finally, why do people like Elisabeth believe that an association--on a charity board no less--tells us more about Obama than 6 years in the Illinois Senate, 2 years in the U.S. Senate, two books, and 19 months of daily press coverage where we have learned who he is, where he is from, what he believes, what he wants, etc.

Answer: They don't. It's their cynical belief that some voters are dense enough to fall for such clap trap.

All she's doing is delivering talking points. She doesn't care whether they're true or not.

I think she should stay, she is a reflection of what we can expect from the majority of Republican. They are whiners when they are losing.

I always find it cruelly ironic how this country was founded on dissent and that the side most likely to shroud themselves in the flag are the ones that consider dissent to be equal to treason. Does Hasselbeck have anything to say about Palin's hubby's association with the Alaskan group wishing to secede from the U.S.?

She is always looking for an oppotunity to pounce on Obama.

What does that make her?

Go Obama/Biden 08-16

A difference of opinion would be refreshing, but mindless rhetoric that someone pored into your brains...wait a minute...Is Elizabeth related to Sarah Palin???

I agree with you notakoolaiddrinker. As most are, this is certainly a "far left" liberal website. If you disagree, you are not intelligent? These people are sick. If Obama is the best they've got, we're in big trouble.

Elisabeth sounds shrill, defensive, and ultimately stupid. Who takes her seriously?

All you ladies are just jealous because Hasselbeck is better looking than you AND smarter than you too! Same goes for the other co-hosts....It is amazing what envy does to people in this country!

You are just about as stupid as she is. Looks does not determine whether a person is saying dumb things. She clearly does not have a open mind when it comes to Obama. Everything McCain says is true.

This is where the problem comes from. STUPID statements
How do you know what anyone's looks are, intellectual level, or education level is? A discussion is a process of bringing thoughts to the table and expressing them. Of course you have to have the skills to understand and provide feedback.

Come on this is not about real issues it's about who can out "worse" the next person. Over the last few days there have been tons of articles that enlighten JM's commections to Sinulab, keating, abortion nuts, gambling, etc. I think it is beneath us to throw out a "ayers" and raise you "one Hagee"

I'm NOT a Female and NOT jealous... Google Elizabeth's Bio and she is an Intelligent woman... When she speaks from her Intelligence, she can make more sense then some of the other's Emotional reactions... When she speaks from her Intelligence!!!

However, this rant was spin and talking points, NOT INTELLIGENT... With their ongoing Lies - spin and attacks, McCain/ Palin become difficult to speak of Intelligently... Both McCain and Palin show some Character Flaws...

McCain very probably co-operated with the Enemy in Vietnam... Palin is connected to seceding from the USA...
