I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Monday on the "The View" Elisabeth Hasselbeck tried to defend John McCain on the subject of the Keating 5 while attacking Barack Obama over his relationship with Bill Ayers.

"This is not about smears," Hasselbeck insisted, adding moments later, "He [Obama] wants to hide all of his radical connections."

Watch Sherri, Whoopi and Barbara verses Elisabeth on Monday's show. Joy Behar was out.

What's scary is that some viewers make decisions on what they hear from those idiots.

The woman suffers from terminal, irreversible stupidity.

It will be a pleasure to see her leave the View.

She is a blond Sarah Palin - an airhead who can not support an opinion with any rationality.

It's official - Barbara Walters told EH that she loves having her on the show. That's like getting a kiss from Al Pacino in "The Godfather". Next thing you know Whoopi will be taking EH out on the lake to go fishing.

If she should go there, then she should know that her daughter looks like a man. She even said it herself today. She said she looks like a mini Tim or something to that effect. She didnt seem happy about it at all. I betcha she wants to bleach the lil girl too....paging Sharon Stone

John McCain was a personal friend of Charles Keating all through the 1980's. He received more in personal campaign funds than any of the other Senators in the so-called Keating 5 group. It's known that the McCains invested in one of Keating's shopping centers and therefore also had a direct business relationship with him which none of the other senators had, but since there was no investigation of McCain's business involvement with Keating at all, there may be much more to this story. The McCain family made nine vacation trips at Keating's expense, some of them aboard Keating's jet. They vacationed three times at Keating's lavish home in the Bahamas while Keating was present. John McCain, by interceding with government regulators to prevent them from doing their job, aided and abetted Charles Keating's looting of Lincoln Savings and Loan to the tune of 3.5 billion dollars, resulting in the loss of retirement savings for thousands of customers. Does that make John McCain a terrorist?

Considering the fact that Mr. McCain's actions were instrumental in wiping out the retirement savings of thousands of people, one would think that he had also been instrumental in fomenting terror...unless it's easy for you to say that the term 'terror' requires that people be killed, and that they be killed directly instead of indirectly.

I can't imagine how the other women on the view tolerate Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She just shuts her little eyes and screams the most ridiculous nonsense. Is she acting or is she really and truly having to go through life without the use of a brain?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:23 AM on 10/07/2008

yeah, it is the brain thing. when she was on the Survivor show, she called the only black guy on the show a typical lazy black man. The black guy was a Havard Graduate

Elisabeth Hasselbeck--she never seem to stray too far from those GOP talking points, does she?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:47 AM on 10/07/2008

I agree absolutely. Watching this clip of her shouting about Obama's "radical connections", I noticed that all the other times she's been trying to speak negatively of Obama, she hasn't mentioned "radical" ties. If she was SO concerned about this all along, why didn't she mention it last week, or the week before that, or back when Obama became the Democratic nominee??

She clearly just crams up on her distorted "facts" an hour before coming on the show, and then just shouts her mouth off for the five minutes they have to discuss these topics. The lack of time allowed, means that there is never time to properly question her on how much she actually knows. I would love to see somebody like Keith Olbermann interview her for half an hour to 45 minutes, and see how she gets on.

It apparent that she gets her talking points from Hannity, Rush and Faux News. Just once, I'd like to see some critical thinking on her part. (crickets) Yeah, I guess it's not going to happen.

She can't stray from her hackneyed republican talking points because if she wanders too far she'll tumble down with the stock market.

Ayers was a radical when Obama was 8 years old. He didn't kill anybody.

Ayers was not convicted of a crime, although he was indicted for crimes he has admitted committing. Evidence came to light that FBI COINTELPRO agents were directly involved in inciting the bombing activity carried out by the Weathermen, much as they had been deeply and directly involved in KKK murders and bombings during the civil rights movement in the 1960s, and in all sorts of other dirty tricks and major crimes. In order to avoid turning over the documents detailing FBI involvment in the Weathermen group, the government eventually dropped the case against Ayers.

Ayers was not a terrorist, though he did commit crimes. The term 'terrorist' can only be rationally applied to someone who actually generates terror. The Weathermen were apparently not capable of doing that, aside from the fact that they didn't actually attempt to do so. Some of them, however, committed very serious crimes.

Ayers is now a distinguished professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a very favorable national reputation among the academic community in the field of primary education...a field with which most of his current detractors among the Reich wing have, apparently, only a fleeting acquaintance. He has been a professor at the University of Illinois from the time Obama first met him.

Ayers is also deeply involved with his local community in a whole host of very positive ways. That involvement is the reason Obama met him.

So Ayers and Obama know one another. They are, however, not 'friends' in any close personal sense other than that of being friendly to one another as members of the same community who have cooperated with others on the board of an organization which has made noble efforts to improve their community.

GOOD POINT. Does McCain feel remorse for dumping his first wife for Cindy? I could never vote for a serial adulterer.

It boggles the mind that she really believes in what she's saying.... denial much, Ms. Survivor?

All of the Ayers information was already thoroughly vetted by the Clinton campaign organization which made every effort to dig up whatever dirt they could find on Obama. Neither they nor the media - which published and analyzed all of it many months ago - could find anything actually useful to them or damaging to Obama. Since there is no new information on this subject, it seems pointless to have to tolerate it yet again.

If McCain were campaigning for the job of some small town mayor, this would simply be a pathetically amusing smear tactic. Since he's campaigning for the presidency, it's a national embarrassment of the first order...but McCain has a lot of experience in that respect.

The real question is why the McCain campaign is engaging in a form of completely ineffective and already debunked character assassination instead of attempting to define what he actually stands for, and instead of talking in some coherent manner about his ideas for solving the major problems facing the country.

I would guess that most people know the answer to that question by now, though.

She needs to quit. i love the fact she can't even get a word out before she gets stomped in the mouth for saying something dumb.

I have a new respect for Sherri having watched that clip. I already loved Whoopi and this confirmed it. Barbara must have the patience of a saint though; she's giving this twit chances to talk sense and every time she blows it.

Silly girl is probably too thick to realise that if she throws around mud about Obama's "radical connections" people might start to look into the connections of McCain and Palin and that could get really ugly
