HBO Renews "Entourage" For Sixth Season

Five episodes into its fifth season and on the heels of the third consecutive Emmy for co-star Jeremy Piven, HBO's comedy mainstay "Entourage" has been renewed for a sixth season.

Production on the sixth season of the show, created by Doug Ellin, will begin in early 2009, with launch slated for next summer.

" 'Entourage' is that rare phenomenon in TV: a smart, sharp comedy series that continues to evolve," said HBO's West Coast head Michael Lombardo.

Ellin praised HBO for "allowing the show to grow and mature."

"I never imagined when we started that we would make it to six seasons," he said.

I wanted to like this show. Netflix said I'd give it 5 stars. After the first 15 minutes of the first episode, I could not go on. Why can't I love this show like everyone else? http://mespace.wordpress.com

There is no accounting for taste. I start feeling sick every time I tune into this show. So far I haven't been able to watch even one minute before changing the channel. I feel like every minute spent watching this show is a minute of my life that is wasted. Is it really possible for someone to feel fulfilled by being part of someone else's entourage? The premise of the show is absurd.

Somebody must be watching it though, to last six seasons.

I really like Entourage....but most good series have a way of deviating from what they originally were sometimes to the detriment of both the show and the viewer....the same thing happened to S*x and the City....I really liked it when it first ran....but as the seasons wore on, the women became more self-centered and their pretensions became totally unbearable.

Who wanted to follow the lives of some obnoxious, look at me, center of the universe New Yorkers.....they weren't like any REAL New Yorkers I know.

You take a trip to Joshua Tree National Park in order to shroom and come to terms with your inner self about doing a Benji movie vs. "Smokejumpers" while your agent's gay assistant throws a man orgy at his (the agent's) house.

Trying to watch Entourage this season has become difficult, almost painful.
