McCain Ad, Assaults Bring Campaign To New Depths

Thirty days until the election and the presidential campaign is reaching new depths.

On Monday, the McCain campaign put out a television ad that is notable not just for calling Obama "dangerous" and "dishonorable" but for how badly it misrepresents the Illinois Democrat's words and votes. The spot, titled "Dangerous," plays off an already debunked attack that Obama, back in August 2007, said American troops in Afghanistan were "... just air-raiding villages and killing civilians."

"How dishonorable," says the narrator. "Congressional liberals voted repeatedly to cut off funding to our active troops. Increasing the risk on their lives. How dangerous. Obama and Congressional liberals. Too risky for America."

In actuality, Obama was calling for MORE funds for MORE troops to send to Afghanistan so that forces there could expand their operations beyond air raids that were killing innocent civilians. At the time, even President Bush was acknowledging such a problem.

And yet, McCain and his aides have returned to this charge repeatedly during the general election, starting in August. Each time, it has been dismissed. Sometimes, however, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Combine this ad with the attacks the McCain campaign is launching on William Ayers and Obama's forthcoming assault on the Keating Five and the media should not be left wanting for copy this week.

This is not the best video I've seen, but it shows the part of McCain that is the most scary. It shows his RECKLESS OPPORTUNISM.

Most of the video points out his stance on Iraq, highlighting his famous line that we could be there "for a hundred years", but at the end, the interviewer asks him why he did something DISINGENUOUS in his 2000 run for the White House.

McCain is a pathetic, pitiful old man. At a time when we're in two wars, the entire world economy is crumbling under our feet, and Americans are losing their jobs, their homes and their life savings, the best thing McCain can think to do is to lie about Barack Obama's words - and it's not even an original lie. Anyone who would vote for such a sad excuse for an American should lose their voting rights for the rest of their lives.

I think this is what we can expect from McFake and the moose until November. He did attack Joe Biden on the same premise by taking his words out of context re. Mexican Governemnt is dysfuntional and twisting it to say Joe says Mexicans are dysfunctional. I think it blew up in his face based on the reactions of Mexicans posting here and on other blogs. It's all about ambition, never about country and he's so desparate that he'll do anything and everything to get into the WH. Of course that's the moose's ambition also so she'll do whatever she can to make it happen. They are both living in a fantasy world of their own making filled with delusions of grandeur and ego.

As I recall, Ayers was charged but the charges had to be dismissed because his Constitutional rights were violated in the way evidence was gathered. You remember The Constitution, it's that document that the Bush/Cheney administration shredded.
