McCain: Obama Lying About My Economic Record

McCain lobbed attacks on Obama today as the markets were in freefall.

Republican John McCain is calling Democratic rival Barack Obama a liar.

The GOP presidential candidate told a campaign rally: "Sen. Obama has accused me of opposing regulation to avert this crisis. I guess he believes if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough it will be believed."

It has been another extraordinary and traumatic day on Wall Street, with the Dow Jones industrials plunging as much as 800 points before closing with a loss of about 350.

The catalyst for the frantic selling was investors' growing realization that the credit crisis is likely to take a heavy toll around the world. And while the Bush administration is starting to implement its $700 billion financial rescue plan, that and steps taken by other governments won't be enough to stop the global spread of credit troubles.

i would not trust anything that comes out of the murdoch-owned media (fox news, fox news network, new york post and not to imply any wrong-doing, the wall street journal). if these murdoch-owned companies say that this is true, how come the major media, print, audio and television, have not put this in headlines?

RICHMOND, Va. — The wife of Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel plans to endorse Democrat Barack Obama.

Lilibet Hagel has scheduled a 10 a.m. news conference in Alexandria, Va., on Tuesday with Susan Eisenhower, the granddaughter of Republican President Eisenhower. Susan Eisenhower also is an Obama supporter.

Hagel, R-Neb., has made no endorsement. Lilibet Hagel said in an Associated Press interview that her decision was independent of her husband. She said she didn't know whether he would make an endorsement or whom he would support.

"You'd have to ask him," Lilibet Hagel said.

She said it will be her first endorsement of a Democrat and that perilous world conditions were a factor.

"The fact is we're in two wars, two of the longest we've ever been in. We've run up a third of our nation's debt in just the past eight years. We're in the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression," she said.

The Hagels know John and Cindy McCain, and she said her endorsement was not meant to slam them.

"This isn't anti-McCain. This is pro-Obama. I'm just convinced he's the right person," she said.

Well from what I read, I was wrong. It seems some states do allow people who have served time as a felon vote. But apparently you believe it is OK to deny people of their legal right to vote. Am I right or am I wrong?

There are many vets who are homeless. So I suppose SPR thinks that they should be denied a vote just because they don't have a roof over their head? There are many reasons for homelessness and I hope SPR never has to find out what they might be.

Many states have given back the right of non-violent ex-offenders to vote!!! The winning argument was that a desparate number of minorities were arrested and convicted for the same crimes that white people committed but were not even arrested for! The law is that those given their voting rights back must have served their incarceration periods and have no further warrants or arrests!
