McCain: Obama Lying About My Economic Record

McCain lobbed attacks on Obama today as the markets were in freefall.

Republican John McCain is calling Democratic rival Barack Obama a liar.

The GOP presidential candidate told a campaign rally: "Sen. Obama has accused me of opposing regulation to avert this crisis. I guess he believes if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough it will be believed."

It has been another extraordinary and traumatic day on Wall Street, with the Dow Jones industrials plunging as much as 800 points before closing with a loss of about 350.

The catalyst for the frantic selling was investors' growing realization that the credit crisis is likely to take a heavy toll around the world. And while the Bush administration is starting to implement its $700 billion financial rescue plan, that and steps taken by other governments won't be enough to stop the global spread of credit troubles.

Oh spit! http://pollster.com/ just flipped their electoral map to 275 Obama, 163 McCain 115 Toss-up. And the toss-ups are VA, OH, FL, MI, IN, CO, NV and NH. Therefore they have him winning right now, even without VA, OH, FL! Wow!

Those numbers at pollsters are wrong. The blue and lean Obama actually total 254. He will need to win some of the states you mentioned. However, just about everyone of those states you mentioned show Obama leaning and he will probably win them all.

If the toss-ups go for McCain, he will get 278 and will. This is getting downright scary.

Uh...somebody's math is off then, because RCP has the same states for Obama as Pollster does AND includes New Hampshire. But RCP only gives 264 electoral votes to Obama.

As a matter of fact, if you add up the total EV's from Pollster, you get 553. If you add up RCP's EV's, you get 538. Somethings out of whack somewhere.

McCain has nowhere to go now but down. He can run away from President Bush, but he can't run away from the Republican Party. The Republicans will be regarded from now on as "the party that wrecked America." Over the weeks ahead, as carnage in the economy and the financial markets ramps up, it will become increasingly clear. It is important that this meme be spread through the internet. I urge all commentators to adopt and spread the idea that the Republicans are "the party that wrecked America." It will work because it is the truth. Use it freely. Just spread the word.
