McCain Campaign Won't Allow Media Near Palin Supporters

Constantly under the watchful eyes of security, the media wasn't permitted to wander around inside Coachman Park to talk to Sarah Palin supporters. When reporters tried to leave the designated press area and head toward the bleachers where the crowd was seated, an escort would dart out of nowhere and confront him or her and say, "Can I help you?''

Personally, I think this is the scariest thing I have read. Can you imagine an administration, er, regime where media access is so completely controlled? There is no truth in Pravda and no news in Izvestia, as they used to say. Move over, Stalin and make way for Palin!

How about we comment on what Palin represents that these people clearly think has been missing in their lives? I think the "clown" - as people have been calling him - is right. She's their hero. She represents the idea that you don't have to be born into a political family, born rich, or born with privileges in order to have a chance to get to the top.

But see, Barack Obama represents that same ideal.

McCain says he aspires to be a dictator and he is definitely practicing for it. Although I cant blame him for wanting the press to stay away from her supporters, some paid and some filled with such hate inside and Palin keeps putting fuel on the fire. They are such racists. Oh give me a break! They pack the stands with ringers and then won't allow the press to interview anyone? And this is supposed to be "maverick" behavior? Sounds like another four years of Bush to me! He's the one famous for not answering anyone's questions, and controlling who attends his little rallies. He's also the first president I can remember that had to drive with the windows rolled up after taking his oath of office, because there were so many protesters.

This entire bag of worms that is the Palin/McCain campaign is as shuttered and secretive as anything in the third world or Russia. I fail to see how they can get by with it but then the MSM, with few exceptions, never brings this to public attention. This entire GOP campaign has been a swamp of secrets, ineptitude and cheap pot shots at Obama. It really sucks. I hope Obama wipes the floor with McCain tonight.

This is exemplary of the same meme that we've had all along from the McCain campaign--no one and no idea will be tolerated or thrive that is out of step with THEIR personal view of how the world should live and act. In their universe, there is no room for diversity, differences, tolerance, balance, or individualism. It is their way or nothing. If they have their way, then we will eventually find ourselves living in a very narrow and ugly world with no personal freedoms or choices. Think carefully about your options on November 4th. A lot is at stake here. Palin and McCain would love to create a U.S. where no woman has a choice but to give birth once pregnant, the Bible substitutes for science and history in classrooms, every child practices and participates in the "Christian" faith in schools, court rooms and public buildings are festooned with the 10 Commandments and other religious icons of the "Christian" faith, judges pass sentences based on the "Scriptures" and we start stoning people who "sin" against the new National faith, and that's just for starters. These are dangerous and risky people to even CONSIDER putting in the White House. No way, no how, no Palin/McCain. Obama '08
