McCain Campaign Won't Allow Media Near Palin Supporters

Constantly under the watchful eyes of security, the media wasn't permitted to wander around inside Coachman Park to talk to Sarah Palin supporters. When reporters tried to leave the designated press area and head toward the bleachers where the crowd was seated, an escort would dart out of nowhere and confront him or her and say, "Can I help you?''

This is about the funniest line I have ever read, especially given the context and her annoyingly high pitched "you betcha" voice.

Do people still fall for this kind of act? Doesn't anyone remember the Yale graduate (purchased by daddy) who was a former coke addict and alcoholic, throw on a ten gallon hat, cowboy boots and some levis and claim to be blood and bones Texan ranching stock?

Her behaviour eerily reminds me of the depictions of Kim Jong Il, someone wildly out of touch with reality who's entire life is a fairy tale maintained by an iron fist. Scary...

It's like a John Waters satire of a political campaign from the fifties, complete with perky, (Stepford) housewife type spewing hate and fear, as vp candidate and old McCarthyism type guy pointing his finger at scary, evil doers, as pres candidate. I can remember when reporters weren't helpless children. Coachman Park, I'd guess, is a public park? Were the Palin aides cited sworn and armed law officers? If not, the correct press response is to brush past with a "Sorry, get out of my way. If you don't like it, have me arrested." Then if need be, file a story about the arrest.

Plenty seemed willing to risk life & limb pushing front-line propaganda for Bush's war. How about risking some handcuff burns to cover "democracy" in this country?

I snuck around police lines as a reporter, including covering protesters at a Pres. Raygun birthday event. Worst I ever got was shoved and yelled at. We're talking here about "Palin aides." What are they going to do? Run you over with their snow machines?

Granted, the crew from Democracy Now and others had their heads bashed at the RNC this summer. Those are REAL reporters. If all of them were, the sunlight would shine and the censorship goons would back down.

They want us to believe that Barack Obama has associations with Bill Ayers a 60’s radical, when it has been proven over and over to be false. At the time when those crimes were commited, Barack Obama was only 8 years old and living in Hawaii. Mr. Obama and Mr. Ayers were board members of the same charity board. Imagine if all of us were guilty by living in the same neighborhood and working in the same place as a questionable person. Would that mean that we are all guilty by association and proximity? We can look at Mr. McCain and Ms. Palin’s past associations and conclude the same thing. If my co-worker was found guilty of stealing, would that make me guilty as well?
