McCain Campaign Won't Allow Media Near Palin Supporters

Constantly under the watchful eyes of security, the media wasn't permitted to wander around inside Coachman Park to talk to Sarah Palin supporters. When reporters tried to leave the designated press area and head toward the bleachers where the crowd was seated, an escort would dart out of nowhere and confront him or her and say, "Can I help you?''

The performances by both McCain and Palin on Monday were appalling.Their rhetoric fed into an undercurrent of hate and simmering violence. The unchallenged shouts of "Terrorist!" and "Kill him!" is not what a healthy Democracy is about. As a people we are better than this. It was a cynical and calculated appeal to the baser nature of humanity. Demagoguery has no place in these times of troubles. Addressing the issues that truly matter to the American people, and offering solutions is what we need. We are facing times that will test us as a nation and a people. Substituting diversions for solutions will backfire on those who chose to drag us into the mud.

The press should just turn the tables around and refuse to cover the rallies at all. The campaigns need the free publicity that comes with coverage, more than the media does. The media's just dumb and doesn't value their own profession, they run after them brown nosing, hoping to be the next one to get "the Exclusive" interview, and scared shitless of being kicked out of the plane. The self-loathing media, has lost all prestige. Don't give them the attention, and watch how they'll come begging for any coverage.

Just like the McCain campaign was paying frats in St. Louis and Oxford to hold up signs at the debates, I'm sure some such silliness is going on at these rallies. Remember, the McCain campaign is so envious of Obama that they have lied about the size of their crowds. What is sad is that Obama's appeal has nothing to do with cul t of personality of celebrity charisma. McCain doesn't understand this. He is trying to imitate something that is figment of his geria tric imagination. Palin is a laughably poor imitation of what he perceives Obama to be. She is a creation, fake accent and all. The reason the press is not allowed to talk to her supporters is that McCain is ashamed. And McCain should know about shame, he renoun ced his country while a POW and yet exploits the experience for political gain. He is a small man playing a big boys game now and he has to chea t to compete.

It's less significant or surprising that they'd try to keep press from their Br!tney...what is alarming is that they would keep the supporters from the press, not allowing THEM to speak, presumably without asking their permission.

McCain / Palin are giving up on the "Country first" theme. The new push is "If I can't have it nobody will" They are fomenting hate. They are spreading lies. They are trying to divide people, make them suspect one another, tempt them to destruction through fear of their neighbors. They are plotting the debilitation of an Obama / Biden administration. They are trying to sabotage any effort to right this country.
