New York Daily News:

It's getting McNasty again.

McCain's course correction reflects a growing case of nerves within his high command as the electoral map has shifted significantly in Obama's favor in the past two weeks.

"It's a dangerous road, but we have no choice," a top McCain strategist told the Daily News. "If we keep talking about the economic crisis, we're going to lose."

Now what they'll do is start insulting Jeremiah Wright directly because their goal is to bring him out of hiding to make some outrageous statement and make Obama look bad again. They are desperate for Ayers and Wright to start talking to the media

any american with 1/2 a brain will realize that none of that matters. we aren't voting for those 2 guys and they didn't ruin our economy through crimnal activities. the republiturds and a few dems did it and should pay with life sentences without parole, but won't even be questioned. the rich people of this country are scabs - palin and simple, so, what are we to do. revolution is the only solution. maybe ayers understood this better than his critics. they exercise economic terrorism so who is worse? if you could wouldn't you blow them all up?

Hey, McCain. How about actually putting "country first" and sparing us from your despicable campaign tactics? Resign with what's left of your honor.

How unfortunate for him that McCain doesn't want to talk about the Economy to the voters just when it's the biggest single issue on everyone's mind.

It really IS the economy, stupid. Republican love for deregulation has finally circled around to bite McCain in his posterior. And not a day too soon. I hope McCain is too rattled over the Keating five to keep his mind on the debate tomorrow.

Poor OJ. The Obama campaign has played the race card so often for the last 2 years that when OJ's lawyer tried to use it as a reason for an appeal, nobody cared.

Really? The all white jury in OJ's recent trial immediately held a press conference to refute any claims of racism or payback for his earlier acquittal. They weren't going to take that 'race card' playing cr*p any longer. It's been overdone lately. That you can't see that is no big surprise.

Will the CEO of Lehman Brothers (the one who made approximately $500.00 during a five year span) benefit from the Bush/McCain tax cuts? Will McCain's casino friends benefit from the same tax cuts?

Has anyone noticed that as Obama's poll numbers go up, the stock market numbers go down? It's obvious now that the people realize how the democrats caused this economic disaster. Easing the credit requirements through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to allow people who, under normal circumstances, could not have qualified for a home loan is social engineering at its worse. You democrats should be ashamed. And you are most definitely going to pay for this in November. Can you say, "Republican congress?"

There's goes Obama's agenda if he wins.

You got that backwards, the stock market goes down, Obama's numbers go up. The good folk out there know who's to blame. Hint: it's going to be a Democratic landslide in November.

Rubbish.

Few Senators, if any, have their fingerprints on as many deregulation efforts as McCain. Additionally, no Senator, before, or since, has ever been as directly involved in the pressuring of federal regulators to back off a securities fraud investigation as John McCain in the Keating 5 mess.

Where your argument utterly fails is that Bill Clinton's concept of making home ownership affordable has nothing to do with the orgy of corruption and abuse that ensued.

Simple but thorough credit checks and realistic appraisals could have saved us great deal of grief. Standards & Poors and Moody's should have looked closer at the value of the underlying securities they were allowing to flood the global financial markets with AAA ratings.

However, it was the practice of selling unregulated insurance policies, CDS's, to provide a false sense of security for investors which fueled demand for risky derivative products because they gave investors the false impression of protection.

This practice was advocated by Phil Gram and John McCain and it should have been regulated. If the insurance policy cash was in reserve, as it is supposed to be, we would not have the mess we have now. You're attempting to conflate a program that has very little, if anything, to do with why there was a financial melt down.

I read a great blog recently, I can’t remember where I found it, but it went like this:

Obama to McCain, “If you don’t stop telling lies about me I’m going to be forced to tell the truth about you.”

Well, I think that day has come boys and girls, and not a moment too soon.
As the wise Joe Biden once said, “Past is Prologue.”
It’s time to move on, America.

As all the big funds shake out the weak hands they gobble up the good deals with their unlimited funds.

I was a successful daytrader for 3 years (I haven't owned a stock since the tech bubble burst) and the single most important lesson I learned is the "Bigboys" control the market.
I tell my friends if they want to gamble with their savings go to Vegas, at least you'll have fun losing the money and get free drinks and comped rooms.

"Investors around the world have come to the sobering realization that the Bush administration's $700 billion rescue plan won't work quickly to unfreeze the credit markets. Global banks, hobbled by wrong-way bets on mortgage securities, remain starved for cash as credit has dried up."

Meanwhile in other news, Democratic Party Presidential nominee Barack Obama is certain that he will have no problem borrowing another $1 trillion from global credit markets to enact his domestic spending plans if elected. When asked if he will have to reconsider any of his proposed new spending, he responded, "No, but I'll tell you what we do have to do...", and then promptly listed his entire laundry list of new spending initiatives, and described them as crucial.

Meanwhile in other news, Senator McDoofus lied again, and rambled incoherently about nothing, while his running mate, Sarah Iglooskank, is still unable to form sentences. Their supporters, however, continue to post idiotic, drug-induced c rap on websites. despite submarining poll numbers.

This is clearly a case of two individuals who clearly have nothing of substance to talk to the America people about, so what do they do? Smear attacks! Sad, sad, day for this great nation....The Republican policies have failed and now they are not only trying to hold onto the White House, but the Senate and Congress…It’s over for the republican party and all their greed that has consumed this country and taking it down the hell-hole we find ourselves in now today with job, healthcare, and the economy…
