Schmidt

LA Times:

In the wild ride that is the McCain presidential campaign, Steve Schmidt has been at the wheel, steering -- some say careering -- from Paris Hilton to Sarah Palin, from abrupt "suspension" to abrupt restart.

...

The effort peaked with the choice of Palin as McCain's running mate. Convinced that McCain needed a dramatic gesture to make the race competitive, Schmidt pressed McCain to pluck the Alaska governor from obscurity.

The only good news about the Palins is the comedy they provide. Todd Palin lays out his homespun wisdom on www.dearfirstdude.blogspot.com. Check it out.

These guys are really scary - they are mixing potions of hate and anger - employing the Dark Arts. The Dark Arts never produce anything good. .....................

McCain's choice of Sarah Palin for vice-president proves that he is unsuited to be president.

This guy and his tactics alone should be reason to vote Obama and take back America from thugs and lying criminals like this. He is 3rd generation Lee Atwater; and his ilk get worse with each new brood. Rove himself has said the election will decide if Americans want to continue down the negative campaign trail.

The entire Nazi, fascist governing shtick seems to have lost its charm for the right wing under the current economy and the failed, disastrous Bush administration. A bunch of cocky pricks that thought they had Americans in their thrall have been knocked on their @uses.

This is a new era and most of America longs for the days when Bill Clinton balanced the budget and left us with a huge surplus and a modicum of peace with the rest of the world. I have hopes that Americans will vote need in November and forget the race card. Obama and Biden are exceptional people.

OBAMA/BIDEN'08.

What, is this guy now the fall guy for the Palin decision? "Well, it's really not McCain's fault he picked the bimbo from Alaska, it's that Schmidt guy." Yeah, whatever. It was a shotgun decision that painfully backfired. And I'm lovin' every minute of it. SNL is so much better these days!

The media elite have 'a thing' for Barack. It's as though they view his candidacy as a cathartic, guilt-purging, affirmative action coronation: a sort of alternative race reparations mandate. And they'll be damned if they're going to let escape of the truth about his past hinder that coronation.

I would "pal with" Ayers over Palin anytime.

William Ayers is Distinguished Professor of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Ayers has written extensively about social justice, democracy and education in Harvard Educational Review, the Journal of Teacher Education, Teachers College Record, Rethinking Schools, the Nation, the New York Times and the Cambridge Journal of Education , etc.

See Ayer"s curriculum vite here: http://tinyurl.com/44dz5d

Ayers" activism started while a student at the University of Michigan in 1965, when he joined a picket line protesting at a pizzeria for refusing to seat African Americans.

Later, in 1969, he helped found Weather Underground, a group dedicated primarily to fight government brutality against Blacks and other minorities. He participated in b0mbings, none fatal, to protest police brutality and VN war.

I once attended a talk by William Ayers, and was inspired by his passion and his values.

Sure, he made mistakes in his methods when he was in his twenties. But his cause was a just cause, and he remains dedicated to the cause of peace and justice.

Terr0rist?

Quite the contrary. Ayers is a national treasure. I wish there would be more university students following his footsteps now. I gave one of my kids his recent book, "Fugitive Days", as a birthday gift, with a note saying, "be like him, but skip the b0mbing part".

Thanks for your comment. Whatever people believe this man was, he has definitely redeemed himself. His deeds and actions in the present prove him to be a good person. I well remember the weather underground. These were young people from middle class families who felt that a difference could not be made through the usual channels. Sounds like Ayers has found a way to make a difference using peaceful methods. Congratulations to him.

Great Post. It only goes to show that the RNC and Schmidt use the word terrorist any way that they can with the message: Fear the black man! In this case they are trying to say that Obama is involved with domestic terrorism knowing that Republicans aren't smart enough to make a distinciton. It's just ridiculous. It wouldn't suprise a bit if Schmidt isn't responsible for the Obama Antichrist emails. 30 more days of smear left to go.

Another republican wussy boy who pushed the beauty queen - not because of 'country first'- but because it's the only way he could get a babe to talk to him.
