Palin Calls Afghanistan "Our Neighboring Country"

Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin called Afghanistan "our neighboring country" on Sunday in a speech that could revive questions over her tendency to stumble into linguistic knots.

Three days after a mostly gaffe-free debate performance, the Alaska governor fumbled during a speech in which she praised U.S. soldiers for "fighting terrorism and protecting us and our democratic values".

Speaking as regular o'l joe six-pack hailing from mainstreet USA I know you are probably wonderin' about my feelings for a good ol' down home American like Sarah Palin. Well, I'll tell you that as sure as my rooster will crow in the mornin' that my contempt for palin grows with every passing moment and if her constant attempts to speak to me as if I were mentally handicapped weren't enough to spur my resentment, her lack of understanding regarding topics such as our economy, or even world geogrphy certainly takes the cake. The U.S. never kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, and no one else has either. Perhaps Mr. Biden meant to say Syria, except that the U.S. also didn't do that. The Lebanese ousted Syria's military in 2005. As for NATO, Messrs. Biden and Obama may have proposed sending alliance troops in, but if they did that was also a fantasy. The U.S. has had all it can handle trying to convince NATO countries to deploy to Afghanistan.
