By suggesting that Barack Obama's relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright is a legitimate campaign issue, Sarah Palin appears to have sunk below the standard espoused by John McCain himself earlier this year.

In an interview with neoconservative columnist Bill Kristol, Palin said: "To tell you the truth, Bill, I don't know why that association isn't discussed more, because those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and listened to that -- with, I don't know, a sense of condoning it, I guess, because he didn't get up and leave -- to me, that does say something about character. But, you know, I guess that would be a John McCain call on whether he wants to bring that up."

But the fact is, McCain has already made his call on whether he wants to "bring that up" fairly clear. Beyond deciding not to do so himself, he offered some implicit criticism for anyone else who would.

In March, after being given the opportunity by Fox News' Sean Hannity to hit his opponent on Wright, McCain refused.

"I think that when people support you, it doesn't mean you support everything they say. Obviously, those statements are things none of us would associate ourselves with," McCain said.

After Hannity listed more potential reasons to make Wright an issue, McCain drew a deep breath and decided not to go there. "I do know Sen. Obama, he does not share those views."

In April, after the North Carolina Republican Party uncorked an attack ad linking Obama and Wright in April, McCain asked that they put it back in the box. While candidates often distance themselves from the tougher party-issued ads, McCain went further than that. As the Associated Press reported at the time:

"We asked them not to run it," McCain told reporters on his campaign bus in Kentucky Wednesday. "I'm sending them an e-mail as we speak asking them to take it down.

"I don't know why they do it. Obviously, I don't control them, but I'm making it very clear, as I have a couple of times in the past, that there's no place for that kind of campaigning, and the American people don't want it," McCain said.

McCain said the ad was described to him: "I didn't see it, and I hope that I don't see it."

Does McCain now think the American people want a discussion of Wright from his running mate? The Huffington Post has asked a McCain campaign spokesperson for an update.

Someone needs to dig out a copy of that old 60's song "The Witchdoctor" and blast it wherever Palin appears. "I asked the witch doctor, he told me what to do. He said ooo eee ooo ahh ahh ting tang walla walla bing bang...

Sarah should recognize that since she speaks in tongues and consults witch hunters for advice and protection from evil spells. As a matter of fact, maybe we should dunk Sarah and if doesn't float then we know she's not a witch.

I want to premise this comment by stating that I think Sarah Palin is a disgrace to the American political system and the people of the United States.

However, she did not bring up Rev. Wright, Kristol did. Had Palin been smart she would have dropped it but as we all know she isn't and thus took the bait, hook, line and sinker. Thus this not her mud slinging but Kristol and her answer as uninformed as during the Couric interviews.

I for one am very please with the restraint of the Obama campaign. They are ignoring her and responding only to McCain. I have a feeling this is a woman who does not like to be ignored and her ridiculous statements will get crazier and crazier until before election time every has seen her for what she is, an ignorant oportunist and a woman fairly pretty on the outside but hideously ugly on the inside.

This was no accident. This is what's known as a 3fer. Kristol gives her cover by bringing it up-(Oops, I had no idea)! Palin gets to reinforce her barracuda cred. At the same time she makes Mc Cain appear statesmanlike by not raising the issue himself.

The end result is the Wright issue is out there, yet none of them has to accept responsibility for it. That way, when the campaign does "go there" (and they will) despite Mc Cain previously saying it was off limits, he can claim it was because the voters demanded to know more.

It's the economy, citizens.

Palin has alot of nerve to talk about love of country where she has yet to explain Todd and her involvement with the Alaskan Independence Party .On September 2, 2008, the Associated Press reported that the Alaska Division of Elections said that Todd Palin, the husband of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, had registered as a member of the Alaskan Independence Party in 1995 and 2000.With McCain's campaign emphasizing patriotism -- his latest slogan is "Country First" -- the Palins' links to a party founded by the late secessionist gold miner Joe Vogler could prove awkward. Boy, talk about guilt by association.

Why do we ignore McCain's "own Bill Ayers"?

G. Gordon Liddy served four and a half years in prison in connection with his conviction for his role in the Watergate break-in and the break-in at the office of the psychiatrist of Daniel Ellsberg, the military analyst who leaked the Pentagon Papers. Liddy has acknowledged preparing to kill someone during the Ellsberg break-in "if necessary"; plotting to murder journalist Jack Anderson; plotting with a "gangland figure" to murder Howard Hunt to stop him from cooperating with investigators; plotting to firebomb the Brookings Institution; and plotting to kidnap "leftist guerillas" at the 1972 Republican National Convention -- a plan he outlined to the Nixon administration using terminology borrowed from the Nazis. (The murder, firebombing, and kidnapping plots were never carried out; the break-ins were.) During the 1990s, Liddy reportedly instructed his radio audience on multiple occasions on how to shoot Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents and also reportedly said he had named his shooting targets after Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Liddy has donated $5,000 to McCain's campaigns since 1998, including $1,000 in February 2008. In addition, McCain has appeared on Liddy's radio show during the presidential campaign, including as recently as May.

I find it very interesting that Palin went there considering all her crazy church doings. The Jews to

Jesus, the witch doctor, and the God wants a pipe line. So she stands there and kisses Isreal's ass

the entire time during the debate, but at her church she went to they were saying that Jews were

damned if they did not convert. She didn't say it, but her church did. Rev. Wright made his opinion and

Obama didn't agree with it and he came out saying he didn't. We have yet to hear from Palin wheter or

not she thinks Isreal is full of damned people because they are not followers or Christ. Oh and by the

way, if Obama was caught with a witch doctor this election would be over. You can't be a black man

and be associated with black witch docs, not in America.

Copies found in the Arizona desert??? Hunh?? what, did McCain operatives find this in her luggage in Sedona and drive out to the middle of the desert at midnight to dispose of them? Quite a visual! Something Biblical about that.

I am still shocked by the welcoming and a good luck speech she made at the opening of the Alaskan Indipendent Party as the governer of Alaska.

Does she remember that?

Palin needs to get back on her broom and fly back home to Alaska. Maybe we can find a witch doctor to put a voodoo hex on her so we never have to hear her annoying voice, or be subjected to her bad grammar. I don't like women flirting with me over the tube.... I don't swing that way.

Bishop Thomas Muthee did accuse a woman that he disliked of witchcraft and he did succeed in running her out of town [Kiambu, Kenya ] by using that charge. He also did come to Sarah Palin's church in Wasilla and he did pray for her success.

Perhaps someone should ask Gov. Palin what she thinks of Bishop Muthee.

Oh yeah - I forgot! Gov. Palin doesn't take questions unless she can read a scripted answer.
