Sarah Palin's Evening Gown Competition (VIDEO)

First came the swimsuit competition, then the talent (flute) portion, and now Sarah Heath Palin's evening gown competition video from Miss Alaska 1984 has hit the web.

Dressed in a blue sequined gown, she first goes to the microphone and says:

God has made us this promise: If we will commit our works to Him, we will succeed. Our lives can be enhanced by applying this, and by thinking optimistically. In Alaska we have mosquitoes. We also have the most beautiful mountains in the world. The choice is ours as to which we'll focus on.

She then takes a turn before heading offstage.

The only thing that is waaay out of style is that modest dress and hair though! But I guess that's what my momma wore too in her youthful days.

Think about it...I know it's hard...but TRY to get that brain matter to function properly and not just follow the sheeple.

I grew up in North Dakota and lived all over the US (and overseas); Palin's accent is not a Fargo accent. She sounds like an ignorant hick - she's come up with some weird conglomeration of what she apparently thinks the uneducated right wing crowd wants to hear.

The Fargo movie accents, while accurate to some extent, were exaggerated for comedic effect. And we very definitely pronouced our "ing"s at the end of words.

Please don't insult the good people of ND by comparing them to this dangerous airhead (ND is actually close to being a blue state, maybe... hopefully). Minnesota and parts of Canada really have more Fargo-speakers than ND, too.

Exactly...she went to college in Idaho, and having spent much time in that beautiful state, I can attest that people don't speak like that, and they sure as heck don't have that accent in Alaska...Its as contrived as Bush's Texas drawl.
