I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Immediately after the debate, Wolf Blitzer goes there: "It's apparent to say that Sen. McCain has some disdain, I think it's fair to say, for Sen. Obama. That was very apparent throughout the course of this debate."

TPM notes that while the two candidates did shake hands, McCain seemed to snub Obama at the end of the debate.

Not only did he snub Obama, he snubbed the voters that were there. He left immediately while Obama and Michelle went through the people on the stage talking to them , shaking hands, taking photos. It was great to see. If you are interested you can see this on C-SPAN. I don't know if the "talkers" stations showed this exchange.

The body language of both McCain's is eerily rigid, as if they couldn't wait to get away from wretched commoners--the audience and the Obamas alike--and wash their hands. And yes, that was a definite snub to the black guy in the audience. McCain couldn't have been more dismissive.

McCain showed his immaturity by tapping Obama on the opposite shoulder in an effort to get him to look the wrong way... Too bad for him Obama didn't fall for it.

Cindy walked around with her hands hidden so she didn't have to touch the commoners.

He tapped Obama cause he didn't want to talk to the black guy in the audience, check it out again.

McCain has always claimed that he puts his principles first, abhors earmarks, protects American tax dollars and defends military sacrifice. We all know he is a politician like any other. Sadly McCain suffers from a severe narcissism - he believes his own mythology - all the rest of us are merely mortals in his POW presence.

I woner how many people of colour the McCain's have in there social life (besides the daughter of course) not many me thinks, matey. Will it hurt him when he loses to a Democrat or a black democrat ?

I have total disdain for McCain. When he is with his circle , ie., his wife, Palin and right wing base, they must bolster up his sick ego, but take all that away and the man falls apart. Obama is a man that stands on his own two feet and will do as as POTUS. McCain has shown what he is made of, and it isn't pretty. He is making a big mistake by using his wife and Palin to carry out his sleeze tactics, because he will leave the stage as a dishonorable and broken man, who went down, not with courage, but with rants, rages and shame.

The right wing rabid extremists, like Timothy McVeigh, - the ones who yell 'kill him' at Palin's events, most likely will be with us - they always have been - but sooner or later, they, as McVeigh, will come to their ends the way they have lived, with violence and hatred.

whether you all perceive this or not, the fact seems clear that john mccain has a tiny bit of a napolean complex.mostly because he's a tiny little guy, but also because he's never accomplished the feats his father and grandfather accomplished militarily.it's also quite clear he's a ruthless brat(an military brat by the way).why in gods name would anyone who can think for themself ever want such a sad example of manhood to "lead" them anywhere.i would prefer to fail on my own rather than have these two fail for me.this country has been through enough in eight years.what else is there for them to ruin?

He's using it to pick apart the fabric of our country, probably broke it along time ago and the last time you saw it on him was when he had it glued on.

Not only does he have disdain, he's out of his freaking mind. Koo koo might sum it up, ought to take a break and leave the next generation of leadership to those who can still think straight. He was so distraught at the debate, I think if it had been a ordinary gathering he'd of been throwing punches out of frustration of his inferior intellect and lack of poise.

No, I don't think so. Yes, McCain is clearly livid over the fact that he was just schooled on his own turf by someone smarter, more prepared, more personable, and more presidential, and yes, McCain seems to be a grouch in general, but look more closely at the video and the sequence of events:

1. McCain taps Barack on the wrong shoulder to trick him (like we all did in school and some of us still do).
2. Barack instinctively looks in the correct direction, not falling for the trick.
3. A microsecond later, Cindy appears in his peripheral vision (almost looks like she walks into his elbow but I don't think so).
4. Barack instinctively turns to greet her first, as McCain simultaneously agrees and creepily directs them to shake hands.

McCain's body language was not exactly warm toward Obama, his hand not exactly outstretched, but that was not a snub.
