Brigitte Bardot

French film legend-turned-activist Brigitte Bardot took a swipe at Sarah Palin on Tuesday, saying the US vice presidential candidate was a disgrace to women.

"I hope you lose these elections because that would be a victory for the world," Bardot wrote in an open letter to Republican John McCain's running mate in the November vote.

"By denying the responsibility of man in global warming, by advocating gun rights and making statements that are disconcertingly stupid, you are a disgrace to women and you alone represent a terrible threat, a true environmental catastrophe," wrote Bardot.

The screen icon from the 1960s, who now heads an animal rights foundation, went on to assail Palin for supporting Arctic oil exploration that could jeopardize delicate animal habitats and for dismissing measures to protect polar bears.

"This shows your total lack of responsibility, your inability to protect or simply respect animal life," Bardot wrote.

In a final salvo against Palin, the 74-year-old ex-star picked up on Palin's depiction of herself as a pitbull wearing lipstick and said she "implored" her not to compare herself to dogs.

"I know them well and I can assure you that no pitbull, no dog, nor any other animal for that matter is as dangerous as you are," Bardot wrote.

I would rather have another 4 years of Bush than Palin as VP - seriously.

You know, she'd be a great Marie Antoinette. I mean this seriously, and it's not a criticism.

...It gets even worse, as you will find in my chapter about a group of trophy hunters called Safari Club International. Hunting of the kind I describe there is dishonorable, occasionally depraved, and immoral by the standards of "fair chase" that hunters themselves profess on the rare occasions they are called to account. All such practices should be illegal as well -- on the general principle that if a man's going to hunt, let him at least hunt like a man.

Well, just cause I read them doesn't mean I live or believe in them....I have my own opinions, and of course I am mature about it. That's what politics need, MATURITY! Don't make the mistake in bringing yourselves to McCain's supporters level...America is beautiful! =0)

Since when is the life of a freakin’ polar bear more valuable than the life of an unborn child? It’s not the woman’s body she butchering it’s someone else’s life.

Animals have rights too! I repect Ms. Bardot's views and her lifetime commitment to helping animals. Why should a women be forced to have a child she doesn't want? The world is full of unwanted and abused children already. Also to "morninmist" You republicans are the foolish ones, you would vote for the devil if he ran on the republican ticket, I am an Independent and I chose to vote for the best choice not a party ticket

Just WHO the heck does she think she is? No one cares what she thinks, she doesn't matter at all in the election. That is one of the troubles now, people of other countries are butting in on what is none of their business. The legal citizens of the USA are th only ones that should have a say in the election. I certainly say much good about her, anyway.

Oh Smaggie, how clueless are you! It tickels my belly to think that there are people like you out there who think other countries are in OUR business when in reality WE ARE THE ONES WHO ARE IN EVERYONE ELSE's!!!!!! Besides, we're a country that preaches freedom of speech so let the woman speak....:)

I'm referring to the movie 'Predator'.

Little Ashley sat on her mother’s lap and started crying.

With big tears rolling down her soft cheek she asked:

“Mommy, Why did Cindy and John lie to us?”

I wish the candidate would discuss global poverty more. According to The Borgen Project:
$30 billion: Annual shortfall to end world hunger.
$540 billion: Annual U.S. Defense Budget

Here is Obama's new party on parade: They praise Bridget--well. looky here:

PARIS (Reuters) - French former film star Brigitte Bardot went on trial on Tuesday for insulting Muslims, the fifth time she has faced the charge of "inciting racial hatred" over her controversial remarks about Islam and its followers.

Prosecutors asked that the Paris court hand the 73-year-old former sex symbol a two-month suspended prison sentence and fine her 15,000 euros ($23,760) for saying the Muslim community was "destroying our country and imposing its acts".

I can't believe how F%$^*ng stupid you all are. i wish more celebrities would come out and expose Palin for what she is. She is a crazy dumb woman who would do anything to win a pageant or be inthe spotlight. Even as we wittness she can give up her dignity as a woman and be used like the dumb bimbo she is for political tactics. McCain didn;t chose her. Rove did, only to try to steal the Hillarys vites, but luckily even the dumbest of you fools are seeing through that winking and dressing up sexy and wearing high heels and spitting venom to Obama is not working.

She is a wacko, and she is a cruel and heartless vicious human, to shoot animals for sports .
Palin is a danger to the world and just as dangerous as her are the idiots who don;t have a clue or a minimum of expectaions and standards to measure her qualifications.

BRAVO BRIGITTE. Why aren't more celebrities saying it as it is ??!!

Read the bible ... It didn't say to let all the animals stay on this earth...there wouldn't be any people left.

God made the animals for the people...not the opposite...so get a grip B.Bardot...

I'm sure you didn't feel like this years ago when you probably had a fur coat in your movie days.

And why do you think we have oil and coal and gas in this country....
Are we supposed to let it sit there. God made it possible for other countries to have oil and they are using it to get wealthy on.
Are we stupid or what in this country....too many bleeding hearts. I will never see a polar bear unless
I go to a zoo... I never saw any live prehistoric animals either and it sure doesn't bother me.

Are you related to Al Gore.....

You are exactly the type of person with the type of "God given rights" that has created the backlash of PETA, etc. You have no concept of real science and the balance of nature and how we are the caretakers of this planet, not it's OWNERS. Every animal, plant and ecosystem has a vital duty in the health of this planet. ONLY man has skewed the balance. Those of us that are willing to give up realtively minor convieneces to secure the future of a green planet detest those of you that use and use and use and never give an inch. Try opening another book than your Bible, you find find some information. The Bible and science only conflict if you decide to think of them as conflicting; make them work together.

In answer to your questions: 1. No... Ms. Bardot is not related to Al Gore 2. No... America is not stupid 3. Yes... You are stupid

Finally......................... stop using the name of God in vain.......

You and your ilk believe(in your egomaniac delusions,) that the world and it's resources are ours for the taking, regardless of the results. Yes, we are the most intelligent animals. Therefore it is our responsibility to be good stewards and not destroy the habitats (and respect the lives) of God's other creatures. In your stupidity, you even think that you can take whatever you want and disregard the balance of nature without destroying your own living environment. Are we destroying the earth? Ultimately, no. It we be here long after current living species (including us) are gone.

Is this the same Brigitte Bardot that was bitching about all the immigrants over-running France a couple of years ago?

I think she and Sarah Palin have a lot more in common than either of them might imagine. But then they don't have a lot of imagination between them.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:29 AM on 10/10/2008

Have you been to France lately? Where the immigrant population was rioting ... burning cars, etc.? Consider she may have been trying to make a point?

Of all the intelligent, accomplished and classy women we have in America, McCain and the republicans had to pick her???

I'm sure there are even some republican women that would have fit the mold of someone women could be proud of (even if they did not agree with her politics).

The sad part is that there are many women who are voting the McCain/Palin ticket just because she is a woman, and some creepy old men voting that way because they think she's hot.

Hey Sarah, beauty is only skin deep.
