Cindy McCain: Obama's Waged "Dirtiest Campaign" in U.S. History

Cindy McCain said today that she expects her husband to clear the record at tonight's debate and let America know where he truly stands.

McCain, who stopped to visit a half-dozen children at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt today, said the presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama has "waged the dirtiest campaign in American history," and her husband Sen. John McCain will use tonight's debate to correct the distortions.

Let's go easy on Cindy McCain. If ever there was a poster child for emotionally abused women, she's it. Her husband does not have the highest impression of women in general, has a "woman's place" mentality out of the middle-ages, and has been known to scream obcenities at her in public-- we can only imagine what he does in private. I feel sorry for her.

Last I looked, the "dirtiest campaign in American history" was run by Karl Rove/George W. Bush against John McCain. (That is, unless you count the campaign waged by Cindy McCain against John's first wife.)

If McCain's wife and family cared anything about him they would tell him to give it up and go home. McCain looks old, tired and frail, seriously he has no business running for anything whether it be president, a marathon or to the corner store. McCain doesn't walk he shuffles; if you were to look back just 8 years ago to old footage you can see how much he has aged and with the health problems he has had, one has to wonder about his judgement to want such a difficult job at this stage in his life.I am not saying older people shouldn't work although I do think they shouldn't drive, but let him be the greeter at Wal Mart or teach Sunday school, not be the leader of a country going thru 2 wars, a economic crisis and a country trying to become number 1 in the world again.

Of course. Any question of the GOP's current or past positions is a terrible slander, and the most terrible things you can imagine to accuse a Dem of simply politics. If you use a skewed viewpoint I suppose it is.

But have the Democrats in this campaign said HALF the mean things that conservatives have said about McCain in the past? Or is she perhaps mis-rembering the worst attacks on McCain's character that came from AM radio trolls LAST year as being from Obama last week?

This has the fingerprints of the Rovian political tactics all over it. Take your greatest weakness and assign it to your opponent in hopes that it will stick. The McCain campaign is attempting (although W's campaigns were incredibly toxic) to head straight to the bottom of the sewer.
