Cindy McCain: Obama's Waged "Dirtiest Campaign" in U.S. History

Cindy McCain said today that she expects her husband to clear the record at tonight's debate and let America know where he truly stands.

McCain, who stopped to visit a half-dozen children at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt today, said the presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama has "waged the dirtiest campaign in American history," and her husband Sen. John McCain will use tonight's debate to correct the distortions.

THE FIRST MRS MCCAIN

There is another Mrs. McCain.
She was the woman who faithfully stayed at home looking after the children and waiting for news.

Her pelvis arm were shattered & she suffered massive internal injuries.
She was confined to a wheelchair & catheter. Today, at 70 she stands just 5' 4" in and walks with a limp. Her body is held together by screws & plates.

For nearly 30 years, Carol has maintained a dignified silence about the accident, McCain and their divorce. But last week she told The Mail how McCain divorced her in 1980 and married Cindy, 18 years his junior and the heir to an Arizona brewing fortune, just 1 month later.

My marriage ended because John McCain didn't want to be 40, he wanted to be 25.

In 1979 - while still married to Carol - he met Cindy at a party and ended his marriage. Some of his friends are less forgiving. They portray the politician as a self-centered womanizer who abandoned his crippled wife to 'play the field'. They accuse him of settling on Cindy, for financial reasons.
